I saw it on every machine too (actually 7 computers) this dhlptx stuff, but still strange, does anyone know the purpose of this 048 crypto-thing? Because you often find words like ?b?o?t? it is very unlikely that all these machines are infected otherwise it´d be a ww conspiracy.:D Maybe some microsoft internal could solve this mystery also in relation to session manager subsystem and Gss Rootkit detection or false positive.

Hey, as normal I'm being annoying and asking about 64bit versions. Any chance there is a 64bit compile of this new GSS (1.4-1.42), and I can test the new interface before release? I think I must have missed a release because my version is old, but the latest 64bit I can find on here is 1.3a3.

    Thanks

Furthermore it´d be interesting to know why there is always a file created on c:\ called "out.dat"?

In theory setting execution to ask/block will only BSOD if some important executable is blocked from running. In this case it may be smss.exe or winlogon.exe . If you add those executables to the list and put it to "allow for execute" it shouldn't BSOD. I will be manually adding those 2 items in future builds.

    Hi Jason RO,
You are Ghost Security Moderator (I think the right person who is able to do something when other can't).
Maybe you know the checksum MD5, SHA1 for the realised Ghost Security software or you are in tough with someone who know them. I mean Appdefend, Regdefend, GSS v1.420 and other one.
I would be nice to find the checksum on the web page (forum or at download link placed).
I asked the Ghost Security Support but no answer yet.

When is the next release coming out

My release is v1.0.10 is that because of my new download and not purchased a license? Originally it was just v1.0.0 and did an update and jumped all the way up to v1.0.10 yet here the report is v1.420.

Just curious, thank you for reading this poster,

V1.420 is still in beta pharse.

Judging from the progress, it will take quite some time before V1.4xx can become final.

The V1.0.10 you have is the latest available final version.

I am disappointed that Jason didn't bother to give an update on v1.430 Beta.

It is OK if there is any delay, the important thing is to keep the users in the loop.

It doesn't take a lot of time to just post an update.

Thank you for this reply, I do trust this GSS and their crew, just was wondering. Being a DUMMY when it comes to this type of software, yea! right all software is more like it, my learning curve makes a sharp left and desends to a "BLACK HOLE" where I am just about all of the time. So many questions and so little time to find answers.

TIA for that reply and reading my Posterer Roasted,

IMO, no problem if there is any delay, but must keep the users informed.

Indeed, very disappointing - no news since weeks. BTW I saw that DIAMOND CS has a new website offering the "Power Tool" Deep System Explorer, I suscribed, but also no information since weeks about the "upcoming " Beta Release.
Maybe Jason hired there again, I am just waiting for the message "It is just around the corner "
    Do you remember :D ...

Thank you for the info on DiamondCS, have been using some of their software for many years, like RegProt. Am looking forward to the release of the "Power Tool" hope it is soon.

    Hi dHodges,

@ Admin: ok, it is off topic and this thread is not for doing promotion for DCS, but I am also absolutely convinced regarding Wayne's security tools. (bought everything, also from Jason (former partner of DCS).

The new tool is still in beta state, but available for download. I purchased the software and got an registration file within 2 minutes.

The bad thing is that this file it is not working, so it is still "A limited Evaluation Version" , in other words: not Beta, IMHO Alpha state , same GSS

    "DB,"

Not attempting to do any promotions of any software, just making a passing comment and would like to THANK YOU for the info on the security tools. Not a techy in the software area that is good info to have so I do not crash my system any.

Actually my training is in the Journeyman Electronics/w Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical and Mechanical training and experience. That includes Computers (CPUs) and interface devices.

All I know about the software end of these has been gained by the school-of-hard-knocks. Started out on Win3.1 moved to Win95 then to Win98SE, now on WinXPSP2/w SP3 on hold. Awaiting the bug removals before the install.

    New

    Hi DHodges,

it was my fault. If you purchase the software you will get a new Download-Link. I bought DSE PRO, unlimited Home Licence. Now the Key-File is working, though showing that this license is just valid for 1 Home computer o_O

First impression: Great program, scanning parts of the system I never saw before :thumb:

BTW why you don't use REGDEFEND ? . It is much better than REGPROT, ok it is free of charge, but you can spend a few bucks and won't regret.:D

I do have RegDefend by GSS and the trial period just ran out. One question about this software, any settings done while within the trial period, will they revert when the trial period expires? Maybe remain as set while within the trial period and cannot be readjusted.

Yes, I also agree that RD is much better and more flexible, but; it is not FREE and when retired and a SENIOR Citizen your priorities are more important than the software. When possible that will be done, until . . . we just have to wait.

Many many THANKS for this information.

    Dieter Bressem,

I am the same one you have been posting with in this thread, just changed my UserName.

I have had a problem with my system for about four or five months, if my Selection and password are not entered in a very short time my system automatically reboots even if they are selected and entered correctly. Have been attempting to find what was causing this and it was suggested I remove several programs, GSS/RegDefender, RamBooster and RegProt. I did and the problem seems to have vanished. Reinstalled RamBooster and all is AOK! so then reinstalled RegProt and it still is AOK! Have removed GSS/RegDefender from my system, have you had any complaints about this from any other?

My sig is up to date with most of my security/protection installs,

This is offtopic, but if we don't get any information about an upcoming release, in the meantime, we will do some support :D

    HI NTXLS,

Ok, I see, you are short on money, so which version of Rambooster do you use ? I think it is the free version 2.0 ?.
IMHO it is better to buy a 1 or 2 GB RAM-Chip, memory is cheap at the moment. Better than believing in "Dummy products", though to my surprise about 90 % of the users are satisfied o_O
I have 3 machines at home and will give it a try.
It will be an good idea to install HIJACKTHIS to check your machine for any viruses or trojans, never heard about your problem before.

Another OT but can explain. Check my sig for part of my explanation.

    #1. Not the same animal, "XP-H/E v5.1 SP2, IP-III 850MgHz, 512Mg" not a problem any longer.

#2. The main problem seems to have been a Power Supply that was getting very flaky. Meaning, the voltages were not steady enough, in my opinion. As I am a Journeyman Electronics Technician with about 60 years experience. After completely screwing the XP into a very large HOLE I decided to follow my own idea. Removed an old PwrSply from my Win98SE system and it seems to have solved part of that difficulty.

To make a short story longer, HA! not really my sig will show, thank you for all postings and reading my rambling Poster Toastie,

I think I have found a bug in this release!

I am running Windows XP SP3 with Avira Antivirus and trialling Ghost Security 1.420

I regularly use a sripting and application launching program called
    Powerpro.

If I give PowerPro application launching permission. Then I can launch any program - GSS does not check its hash value at all, but it does take abot 20 seconds extra time to launch. Could it be that the alert window is staying hidden and then the time out is activated?

If I set application launching to "ask". Then GSS asks every time an application is launched (even if I click allow and "remember this setting"). The alert window for the launched application still does not appear.

The only way to get GSS to record a hash value for the launched program is to launch it in a different way.
