I won't vote, but i want to say this. I have no idea which one i prefer. All i have used is Intel, but for no specific reason. Show me two processors, exact same features, one is AMD and the other Intel, i'll go for the cheaper. Good quality from both companies from what i read.
depends what is the best at the time for my budget. this time ive got intel core duo quad last time i went for amd since at the time all intel has to offer was rubbish pentium 4 compared to the at the time better amd athlon 64.
Intel for the time being. I should say both companies provide quality processors... so this straight question gave me complex thoughts.
AMD due to an affordable quality. Intel has the most expensive and the best CPU, which are far too good for a common user like me.
Exactly. Most of the time I choose Intel but if you would ask me to explain why: . Just a feeling I guess. I also have used AMD in several systems (desktop, laptop, server) and I've got no complaints whatsoever.
currently, i'm using intel processor, but I heared from some of my friends that AMD processors is better than intel for Graphical / Animation / Game stuffes . and for gaming and heavy graphic work I prefer AMD to intel . but on my three computers there are intel processors and I am really glad . btw, I think these is no specific difference between them .
In the past had two Intels(P3, P4) and three Amds(Xp, 64, X2) probably Core Duo is a try worth. The only thing that stops me from buying one is the fact of FSB I am not sure if I should wait until Quickpath appears. Energie efficiency is best @ Intel, L1 and direct memory access better @ Amd.
Currently running 2 AMD and 1 Intel. Intel, right now, has the biggest bang for the buck (which is what I use when buying or building a new computer).
Do you feel a difference when making multitasking? For example Amd X2 vs Core Duo. Do you think Amd switches faster to next app in memory or Core Duo? What about hang-ups? I thought Intel takes longer to compensate a hang-up then Amd, isn´t it?
I dont know about the first two but AMD (Athlon 64) *used* to be better for games. Then came Core 2 Duo and Intel became better.
Well there are a lot of stories about Intel vs AMD on the Internet. I don't believe any of them until I see some serious benchmarks.
I think the lab guys at Intel have gone mad with 6 & 8 core coming later this year and next , there isn't much desktop software out there that can take advantage of my quads yet let alone these processors.
Hello, I always liked AMD because they are (were) cooler and quieter. But I've worked with Intels too and never had any problems. Personally, I very much like 64-bit AMDs - they work well with Linuxes. Mrk
