    Hi,

Ideally, No one should steal/rob anything from anyone, but in reality these things are happening the moment I am keying in.

Pirating softwares are no exceptions. It is vendors' sole responsibility to make their products crack-proof. And in some underprivileged nations, a piece of AV does not just cost the price of a hamburger combo, it could cost their whole day's pay. They have no other choices but trying to crack these products. Some times it works, they use it and words spread out, happy time for all.

We all know it is unethical to crack or use these ways, but the wiser ones take all. That is the fact, we just have to accept it. :D

As far as shareholders dividends are concern, who will care ?, because not every one happens to own that one, eh?

Don't you think if they can afford a computer they might find a way to buy their software since they found a way to buy the computer which cost a lot more than software. Theft is theft and their is no way to justify it unless possibly in a life or death situation which software is not.

    Hi,

I totally agree with you on this front, but

When affordability becomes an issue, then the line between moral and unmoral is just getting too vague, besides in cyber space I have not heard any sort of effective law enforcement yet.

IMO, pirating will continue at current rate, if not worse, unless someday these softwares are made accessible and affordable to majority of PC home users. Ha, isn't an old saying: a penny saved(regardless of how) is a penny earned. I know software guys do not like it, but in the foreseeable future, they just have to live with it, pity. :'(

    Hi,

You say it all, but ...

When in desperate situation, the lines among "the saved", "the earned" and "the stolen" are too blurry. :doubt:

    Hi,

to me I have the same feeling, but to some other "have all" folks,
this pricey products just like disposable Bic shavers to them, damned cheap.

And they may in turn point fingers at you ,"why you steal , eh?" :D

    Hi Perman.
Yes you are right in desperate situations ... but ... for basic needs (eat, drink ...) Sw is not a basic need. ... so no apologies crack sw is equal to stole money, and not in desperate situation.

but I know not all people think in this way (i'm not talking about you, in general speaking).

Developers should abandon creating protections, because it just increases the prize of the product and they get almost nothing in return. And all the nonsense about, how much they loose is so funny. People would never buy most of the pirated software, because they could not afford it, so they loose almost nothing, in fact they only gain by increasing its popularity, which will result in more money for them. Like NOD32, which is created in my country, but almost noone has the original, but everyone uses it and ESET knows about it. They also said, that they know, that reinstalling it will result in another 30 days trial, but they let it. :D

But there is a difference, soft like OS or AV will last for years, so people pay 40$ per a year, but paying 40$ for a game, that last for a few houres is just crazy. In past, I used piracy soft only, but now I have a legal OS and a game, the rest is freeware, because there are alternatives, but I still pirate games and movies.

there are a few things everyone must have in mind.bussiness is a manner of profiting and the vendors do not think of how much they loose but how much they earn so to say leave the rest out. There is nothing they can really to stop pirate use of OS and softwares
