    Hi,

it is working great and speed is almost better than previous version.

I think, Avira will break all records in next AV-comparatives test. :thumb: :thumb:

Can someone post a little info about the anti-boot feature??I wasn't aware of that, and i'm afraid it will be overkill with threat fire .Just arrived home i see that the update is slow i'll gonna wait until tonight with my slow connection.Thanks.

Windows Defender does not like avsda.dll in the advanced Spynet mode.

Without knowing your setup, my suggestion would be to ask in their forum so they can walk you through some specific tests and gather some log postings to get your issue resolved.

    Re: AVIRA 8 Release Note

Could someone please help alleviate my confusion about the Web Guard/proxy issue. I have read a great deal about problems between a proxy and firewalls, but am none the wiser, as most of the jargon involved transcends my computer challenged disposition.

I have personally not observed any ill effects since having installed the Web Guard module, and the only change which I can discern is that not only IE, but also Web Guard, are listed in Outpost's Network Activity tab when I access the web. Yet, in view of concerns about the use of a proxy, I thought to ask the following (even if only to allay fears or to begin to remedy my ignorance):

Is the security which my firewall affords compromised by Web Guard?
Do I have to configure my firewall to function properly with Web Guard?

    Thanks

Oooer, my on access service just threw a little tantrum and died! Got the generic "program has stopped working message" then this (see attachment).

Could not restart service, all internet access died.

EDIT: hmm, it seems I cannot use attachments... just take my word on it ;)

you might want to lower the firewall one setting to medium if you are using the suite and see what happens.

I think it is with Comodo so I've turned off Webguard. With Webguard enabled it fails the GRC leak test, with it turned off it passes. Outpost may be different though.

If it's an issue I don't think there's much else you can do apart from turning off Webguard tbh.

    Hello Bluenile,

Thanks for your reply. I tested Outpost with the GRC leak test, and it leaks indeed.

My question is then, is it safer to turn off the Web Guard and have a non-leaking firewall, or to risk leaks by enabling Web Guard but have http scanning instead?

I assume that if I do turn off the Web Guard module, that the AntiVir Guard would jump into action if anything does land on my PC.

    Best wishes

PS: disabled Web Guard and Outpost blocks the leak test.

And there I bought a Avira Antivir Premium license. I was very pleased with version 8, and it ran perfectly on my computer, so I just had to own one.

God, I have to many licenses now. I don't know what to do with them all. Norman, Norton, McAfee, Dr.Web, Avira. Well, it is good to have. ;)

Was updating my Avira and was pleased to see a all new update. Every thing seemed to went smooth. I only have 1 issue. Under Events. It keeps refreshing and I cannot scroll down. When I do it. Since it is refreshing every second it seems. It goes right back up. Can any one help?

highlight the first and click then go the the last and unclick and delete all.See what happens. If no, I would do a clean install. I really have not heard this one. It is almost like your up arrow or page up button is stuck.

If you don't get infected to begin with, that is not an issue. I have never been infected with Avira or any other AV for that matter.

Thanks. I went ahead and done a reboot. That seemed to fix the issue. I have one more and not sure what it is/what it does. I get this pop up when restarting or booting up my computer when logging in.

I wouldn't be so sure. I don't even think that this new version will be the one tested in next AV-Comparatives. We'll just have to wait and see. :)

    Cheers
