    Hy guys and Good day.
First of all sory if my enghlish is not very good.
I have a big problem and y need your help.
usualy i use paragon partition manager or partition editor from suse to do my usual resizing or other operation with partitions. But this time (be cause it is not at my home and because i heard good voices for acronis) i came on internet i downloaded from a site (not remember now - but it is not important) a copy of acronis PartitionExpert @2003 (build 292) i instaled , and i run software. I choos manual and i selected a D: partiton - 293 gb. i came to resize menu and i fixed to 290gb - i want to make more room for os c: partition). i push the commit buton and it show the progres line more then an our... I decided to wait for completion because it is very important files on this partition (it tis from a video surveillance sistem pc). At the one point, i double clik to an aplication from my desktop to see a networked station. Instantly the computer reboots while resize was not terminated... After reboot xp detected problems whit d: partiton and offered to chek partition...Here is may major mistake...i let xp to chek partition without think that thong my o hors...Xp fixed my drive, restoring orphaned files or delething them :(. Now my partition is still 293 gb but over 200 gb of video file information is gone. Partition seem ok. A part from information is still here (50 gb) and i can accees withowt problem...
I run several tool for recovery files, i was able to recover files, even files to 100 mb size. Unfortunately it seems data inside in is not playable. i ryed with media player, player ofered by the aplication, mplayer, but seems to missing video stream..

What can i do ? any help is great apreciated. I am very presed with time, because need to give this record to police...

My experience with acronis is very dissapointed me for now . In past, when i used partition magic, it uses some pointers in case of disaster to let thing back to normal in case of disasters. Unfortunately i don;t backed up any data because i don't think a momet hink can get worst...

Please feel free to contact me here on the forum or through my email ( nemonavicusrino@yahoo.com) If i resolve this problem i thinking to buy acronis disk director for my company
P.s. ater that i stoped record program & i instaled a second 250 gb hard drive to record on this. Besides y do not need entire information only few recors but how i can to recover ?

Thanks in advance for your support.

    Hi NEMONAVICUSRINO,

What you did was to download a trial copy of Acronis Disk Director Suite. This program lacks the abilities of the purchased version of the same program. It can't create large partitions. Did you read the instructions?

    thanks for the input.
i think Problem is not size of partition. Reboot of computer in the middle of operation give me the disaster. I have repeated experiment with another hard disk (resize and shut down in the midle of operation -10-15 times for a 2,5 gb) but operation complete succesfuly or partition remaning intact. only one date he gave me a chunk of list on names of directory & files but i was been able recover whole files) I think maybe, not acronis created problema. chk dsk of xp created problema on reboot & "fixing" my drive... I've read a lot on the internet (last few day i was tryng only to fix this problem) Nothing seems to work.... I have tryed (in disperance) get data back, recover my files, ontrack easy recovery, winternals disk comander, active undelete and many more (free or shareware ) but nothing seems to work... I was able to recover all files, including date of creation, date of modification, lenght, full name, full size. but but on almost files i get message no video stream or missing riff avi (probable header of file - i have tryed vlc, mplayer, media player, virtualdub, divfixer, dr divix, gspot, master spliter, bsplayer -very rare seems to viewwer of total comander was able to handle a initial image and after that it hangs) If anyone can give a sugestion or help to understand what it happens & most important how can i recover or reconstruct file, i very much apreciate.

I leave a message to acronis but seem to not botter to much to answer me...

P.S. Partition it was created six months ago when installed Xp , via xp begin partiton manager, only tryied to resizing with acronis, to realocate few gigs to xp.

    Thanks for your reply.

Hand over your disk to the police.
If this is the criminal police, their scientific department will have the tools to recover those files.
Unless of course checkdisk has done it's work. I've read around on how it manages to completely sabotage the work of recovery software.
    Good luck.

By the looks of this (since you managed to recover all the files) the problem is that chkdsk has made recovery close to impossible, here's a reference:
