I didn't find any recent posts about this issue and it's been 3 or 4 days and no response from Tech Support so let me throw it out here. Has anybody successfully used True Image 11 to backup a Windows partition on a MacBook Pro? When I launch the application, I get an error that says an unsupported hard disk has been detected. I don't care about backing up the Mac side of the house. I'm only using a Mac because that was the quickest way to get a new PC running Windows XP instead of Vista. Any help here would be very much appreciated.

    Hello bradams,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Please be aware that officially none of the current version of Acronis True Image supports Macintosh computers and, therefore, we cannot guarantee that Acronis software will work correctly on them. Most likely future versions will support it. We regret to inform you that we cannot tell the exact time-frame when that will be implemented.

    Thank you.

Have you tried making a rescue CD and just see if a sector by sector image could be made? As the latest OS from Apple is Linuxy based, this might be successful.

yep it's interesting to know whether it will work or not. though I doubt that even boot cd will work since Mac has different architecture.

Darnit! I just purchased ATI 11 last night and installed it on Vista Ultimate on my MacBook Pro with the specific intention of being able to back up my Vista partition, and now I find out it isn't supported!

Oh well, it wasn't that expensive, maybe I'll hang on to it and hope for a patch to enable Mac compatibility...

Doesn't ATI come bundled with a version of Parallels Desktop for use on Intel Macs?

    Same goes for iMacs....

I have a newer Intel iMac that I only run Windows XP on. I assumed that ATIE Workstation would work with it but I get the no mouse/keyboard supported problem with the rescue disk. ATI does work fine when I run it from within Windows but the boot disk is useless. I sure would like to see a patch for this ASAP. I've been using Norton Ghost for years and decided to buy ATI as a 'step up'. So far I'm SOL. :(

I wonder if I could do a restore from another machine if I put the iMac in 'target disk mode'?? Something to try....
