This is nothing major, but annoying.

I'm using a laptop running Vista, so when I'm not using it the cover is closed and "sleeping". When I resume, the wireless connection does not reconnect to the network right away. So, it appears ESS attempts to update before the connection is reestablished and therefore fails. This means I need to manually update or it won't auto update until the next cycle (which may or may not work).

    Anyway around this?

    Thanks...

Yeah, that's real irritating. Other suites will wait until a connection is available before starting the update.

The default is for an update every hour so you shouldn't need to manually update.

Yes, it is set to autoupdate every hour, but it's possible to miss all the autoupdates depending on how often I'm at the laptop and if those hourly updates are scheduled when the laptop happens to be sleeping.

It seems to me that ESS should either wait until a connection is established or retry every 60 seconds or so until complete. If it fails after, perhaps, three attempts then the user could be notified.
