I ran this unknown-to-me Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (Malware can be unknown, but also Anti-Malware can be unknown).

I tested Protection and it was successfull :)
I updated a first time and it worked.
I updated a second time and it knew that the update was already done.
Then I performed a full scan, knowing in advance, that it wouldn't detect anything, except false positives. ;)

    Scan results :
    Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.10
    Database version: 582
    Scan type: Full Scan (C:\|D:\|)
    Objects scanned: 76634
    Time elapsed: 7 minute(s), 1 second(s)
    Memory Processes Infected: 0
    Memory Modules Infected: 0
    Registry Keys Infected: 0
    Registry Values Infected: 0
    Registry Data Items Infected: 0
    Folders Infected: 0
    Files Infected: 0

And I got the message : "The scan completed successfully. No malicious items were detected."

    Hi,

I am using its free version (on-demand scanner), and like what I see.

Have not used its full version, but will try it on another laptop if there is an incentive forwarded from vendor.

I regard this program as an understudy of SAS; it bears more than just few similarities I have seen in SAS's success. Apparently those brains behind this excellent application are X+1 generation ?

They just need a bit push in Marketing (show and tell department).

Good luck to them. and I will continue enjoying its company. :)

Not unknown, not this one. :D
Since Grisoft will stop with AVG AS in the near future, I just tried this app and liked what I saw.
Running SAS & MBAM Pro now and I'm happy with both. :thumb:

    I didn't say "unknown", I said "unknown-to-me". I never heard of it. :D

It's a very fast scanner (7m), but it doesn't beat my 2m-scanner, which does alot more in 2m, than MBAM.
But it's nice to know for me, that my solution in theory, also works in practice. :)

Been using it for about nine months myself.

When did FDISR add a scanner?

You have to create that scanner, yourself (Freeze Storage.arx or any created archive).
During each reboot FDISR compares my actual system partition (Windows + Applications) with an archive, that contains a fresh installed, clean and unused system partition.
During the scan (= comparision) FDISR :
    - deletes every object in the actual one, that wasn't there in the clean one
    - adds every object in the actual one, that is missing in the clean one
    - replaces every changed object in the actual one with the original object of the clean one.
After the scanning my actual system partition = clean system partition.
That clean archive is in fact a whitelist of ALL objects stored in my system partition : registries, files and folders.
As often said at the FDISR forum, you can use FDISR in many ways. I use my archives as a SUPER cleaning tool. :)

That is the reason why scanners can't find anything in my system partition, including MBAM.

OT though. Not to be confused with a malware scanner,it scans for differences bit after bit. That's why it is such a perfect uninstaller/installer !!:D

Indeed. After MBAM was finished, I used my clean archive to uninstall MBAM completely. :D

I tried it recently. Very nice GUI and it installs and uninstalls well. I'm hoping for a GiveAwayOfTheDay Pro version. Anyone want to trade a Malwarebytes' Pro license for a three day old 1 year CounterSpy license?

I've been using MBAM for several months and have been extremely satisfied. It scans quickly and detects quite a few nasties. I typically run it after my usual assortment of removal tools when cleaning hosed pc's. I no longer feel that it's necessary to use AVGAS and A2, but I do rely on SAS's extensive detection and removal capabilities. :thumb:

Very nice scanner eerily familiar to SAS.Ran a full scan about 27 mins and found adware in a video player folder, one detection.Backed that file up [Ide9x.vxd] and deleted still working fine.Had SAS installed a bit back and could not ever get the latest core trace updates for some reason. And did not detect on that file as i had that player installed at that time.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a keeper hope it does not start nagging as i am using the free version.

Lonewolf don't know how i came up with the thought it needed to be connected when scanning i was wrong.

The licence is lifetime and worth the donation.

Sorry. I've done this before and was just trying to make a joke. For those that know me from all my posts. I have a bit of an addiction to trying different security software and to this forum. I guess I should have put an LOL behind it? Honestly though, I'm not sure MB is ready to compete on a detection level with the likes of CounterSpy, Spysweeper, or SuperAntiSpyware yet. Another year maybe. Still it is a nice program and a good "addition" to ones security. Especially if your as addicted as I am. LOL. There I remembered to add the LOL.

Does this program add a windows service like the AVG antispyware. And does anyone know if it conflicts with Online Armor and Antivir Premium.

Runs just fine with Antivir Premium here. :D

MBAMService.exe when guard is active. Otherwise no.

I ran it with Online Armor Free Firewall, Anti-Executable and DefenseWall and nothing happened, but I ran it only one time, because I was not planning to keep it. :)
