There is enough posted for anyone to realize the situation. Definitely buyer beware.

    Hi, Peter

    I appreciate your concern, but

Wilders provides the venue for this -alleged phishing site to sneak thru some not -so -aware readers.

Wilders has the obligation(!) to protect its loyal readers/members. :)

There are warnings after warnings posted in this thread, and in any thread where DCS is brought up again, ever since we closed their forum sections down well over a year ago. Frankly, that should be more than enough. Beyond that, there is no proof that there is any phishing going on that site, especially since none of the people who posted here after trying to buy have reported any problem with their CC or other private info. The key problem appears to be either getting the purchase to go through or getting access to support.

Thats what I am out to see LWM. If he is legit back up or if it is a Phish or what have you. He might still be in business but PO'd at Wilders and not having anything to do with us or what have you. The making another attempt to buy is only bait to see what happens. If I get burned again I will be taking appropriate action.

It does thru it's Terms of Service(TOS) which if everyone followed would go a long way to protecting members.

Well good luck to you Threedog.
I personally would not give whoever is now running that site any of my info or money. Too risky.
Please let us know here if by chance you do get what you paid for.
But I suspect you will not.
PG was a strong layer of protection. Unforchantly I do believe it is gone.

Think of me as the Wilders version of "Buster" the Mythbusters test dummy Lone Wolf. :D

Like I say, it takes a week for Pay Pal to process their E-Check system and the money hasn't even left my bank account yet. The Pay Pal site the site directs me to is the legit one and the Company info is the same as it was back then. The only difference this time so far is that the payment goes straight to Diamond Computer Systems instead of a third party handler as with a lot of sites.

    Hey Threedog,
    So how did it go?
Did you get what you paid for?
    Or can you confirm otherwise?
    Very curious here.

Payment still hasn't cleared thru Pay Pal yet so nothing new to report. Taking a little longer than ususal though. Usually only takes a week to go thru.

I purchased my 2nd Port Explorer license via PayPal a couple nights ago. I received my looooooong serial number in a separate e-mail several hours later.

Details linked here (Windows BBS forum thread).

Well you are luckier than I was. Sale went thru and then I got sent an email with my Processguard licence, only problem is there wasn't any licence or any link to the full processguard. Just a link to the freebies for the paying customers. Pretty much the same as last time. I sent an email off to Diamond CS support and filled one out on their website detailing the problem, however, I don't expect a reply from them. Same as last time. To be fair I am going to give them a couple of days to respond and if they don't I will report it to Pay Pal.

Be sure to carefully check your spam box. My license was in my spam box at my ISP....and arrived about 12 hours(?) after my Port Explorer purchase via PayPal.

BTW, there is potentially another can of worms I described in the Windows BBS thread I linked above (regarding the "bonus" applications offered by DiamondCS to those who purchase new licenses).

I got the licence email from them OK. It came shortly after the Pay Pal email. There just wasn't any licence code in the email. Same as before with me and a lot of other people. The test will be to see if there is any replies to my email to Support or my dispute claim at Pay Pal.

There are people who know what happened and what current status is..they may speak out when and or if they can.
Personally I regard it all as terribly sad and a great loss of some great resources.
Not knowing anything more is frustrating for many reasons.

This thread is been like a broken record. As much as many of us would like to see them resurface at some point, i think judging from things as well as the time thats long past, that it's a pretty good bet those guys have put this project to bed for good.

If only some users would also do the same.

It's a foregone conclusion that no matter how great it once was, theres nothing any of us can do to bring them back no matter how often this topic is re-ressurrected and lifted up again and again for many months now and yet to come, even if a hundred to a thousand times over again.

Out of all the applications I have tried, kept, discarded, since 1999 when I got my first computer, there are only two that I cannot do without and that I truly value. I consider it a great irony/mystery why the author of one of these applications died at an early age shocking us users and the author of the other (PG) disappeared suddenly and has never been heard from since. The other application has folks keeping it going (for now) and PG, well, I just so wish so very much that Wayne would surface and start up his company again that I, like others here, jump on any little bit of hope. Plus, I think we all crave a bit of closure before we can try and put DiamondCS and its amazing products to rest. What very little I know that hasn't been made public here claws at me and I think about Wayne every time I interact with PG and for me DiamondCS is not dead. It is not over yet.

    Hi,

Even though PG can make a surprised comeback, can it be upgraded to accommodate Vista ? which is a much different breed of O/S, and currently a good number of HIPS type product have a relatively tough time to convert to,

Let alone PG now IS a chicken without a needing HEAD.

Gavic Coe stated that PG works on Vista 32 bit. That was in a post not long before Wayne disappeared.

When I ran the latest version of Microsoft's Vista compatibility tool a few days ago, it said PG would work fine on Vista. It told me my favorite game wouldn't work and I didn't believe that and clicked on the manufacturer's link only find that the manufacturer says it won't work and they have no intention making it work. That tool found a couple of other important hardware that won't work. It said my Nero Ultra 6 won't work and one other application both of which must be uninstalled before I would upgrade. But it said PG would work fine. How reliable that tool is I don't know but the hardware and software that it listed that would have problems or plain not work period on Vista I was aware of except for the game.

Gavin's comment is in the archives here.

    HI Mele

Hard to define how good that tool is but.... When I did an upgrade install I ran the tool and noted what it said. Then i did the upgrade, and vista wouldn't installl until I made the changes it listed, which were identical to the tool.

I tried the free version of Processguard on Vista Business and it worked ok Mele. I am back to XP Pro now though and I still use the free version of Processguard on my Virt PC's. Of the HIPS programs I have tried PG is the one I like the best. I was too late getting on board though and missed out on getting the full blown, newer versions with the added attractions, but what I have now suits my purposes.

For anyone unaware of DiamondCS's condition, read the thread.

    What is Deep System Explorer?
Deep System Explorer (DSE) is an advanced security tool for Windows that has one main objective - to make looking into the deepest levels of your system security as easy as looking at files in Explorer, providing you with as much information as possible, allowing you to easily find many different signs of infection.

DSE also aims to provide you the user with as much information about such detections as possible, because we know that when you're fighting an infection you want to know as much as possible about whatever it is that's attacking your system.

I wouldn't trust a thing they did. Who knows whom you are dealing with. They don't respond to any effort to contact them.
