CFP Free v Plus

I saw it just today( i mean the website- option of warranty I know already). What do u think about this? No offence. They do need/ deserve money for their software development efforts IMO.

 

If you have a paid for anti virus on your PC wont they help you remove any nasties? Paying for that service twice doesn't strike me as value for money.

 

Most AV companies charge you on a per incident case costing $30 or more per incident. This is a service to help remove malware,viruses, and spyware at a cost of $40 per YEAR. You do not need to sign up for it. It is mainly for newbies. Comodo Firewall is free and will remain free. I myself have never needed tech support to remove a virus cause honestly I have never been infected in over 5 years and when I did get a virus along time ago all I did was reformat.

 

Personally, I did see this some time ago. My opinion is to look very carefully at the the terms/conditions.

But,.. I would say such advert as no place here, and, I will remove if allowed.

They will charge you if you do not know how to use their product properly--I mean they will help you to configure CFP and perhaps catch some malwares at the same time for a fee.

There is a dangerous and hidden agenda buried here.

Will they make CFP more and more complicated/complex to use or more vulnerable to malware attacks ? in order to siphon money out of users ?

I do not like a situation where I have been given an under-cooked food and then PeptolBismal for a fee.

I will watch Comodo's next move. BTW, they are recruiting resellers/fixers for their products services in conjunction with that AD--charging $39.00 per year.. Perhaps their move will eventually reduce unemployment rate in USA ?

 

I would think that's a good deal considering how many house holds have kid's that do not know better or are not safe users on the net but here is a link that will give other's a better idea of what AVSmart is and does

 

Given that security software is carefully reviewed by many third parties it seems very unlikely that an intentional vulnerability would go unnoticed. With regard to complexity, CFP is ALREADY too complex for me, but I'm not feeling motivated to pay for support

I am currently using CFP free version, many thanks to Wilders.

By reading its posts regularly, I am certain that I have saved $ 39.00 per year right now.

Posts here regarding CFP probably roll out MORE constructive guidance than Comodo support staff can possibly do.

Melih is taking action against this cause they are breaking copy right laws.

 

Comodo has always had the tradition of making redundant, difficult-to-use software, and then touting them as innovative breakthroughs - if only because any failures of the software can be blamed squarely on the user. Good to see their **** is finally, albeit slowly, coming back to bite them in the arse.

I think that the simple fact that for the Plus version you have to pay, stops it for being an option.

I am curious to see what he has to say after such investigation.. Because a man as clever as he is, this kind of bo-bo usually would not go on without any blessing at all.

 

To get things back on track comodo is not the only one being used by this company. they also use Kaspersky, anti virus

I see nothing wrong with what Comodo is doing unless we can say the same for the others that have made deals with them

 

Even the MVPS HOSTS file blackballs PCSecurityShield as scumware, so it is not like it is an industry secret. Bad move by all of these so called "security" companys; shows a lack of judgment.

Moreover when the details leak out or the deal shows true colour, then integrity and creditability are in limbo. Hidden agenda is what I worry the most. But what are this agenda ?

 

The cynical would say that the next step for PCSS is to bundle the legitimate applications with adware/malware so that they can be both the problem and the solution. I don't know why MVPS blackballed them, but I don't think it is a good sign. Wasn't there also a report of Comodo selling SSL certification to the bad guys? Never heard how that turned out either.

What I do not unterstand is:
What do the guys at PCSecurityShield think?
Who will order a lifetime license for $29.99 (currently $19.99)
if he can get a lifetime license for free at Comodo
