    Hi Gang:
Just my 2 cents I have been using Trojan Remover now for over 5 years and it has done a great job for me. I have tried others any they are good don't get me wrong....but I have found TR to be a great addition to ones security. Now granted it does not have a real time scanner however that never was a problem as it automatically scans on boot up. Its light on resources and updates are frequent. My point is use whatever works for you.......but give it a try you have a 30 trial if you like it find if not your choice
Here's the web site for TR.

My opinion: u don,t need such a thing with a modern AV, neither in real time nor on-deamnd.

One important aspect in today world............ Layer security it the best defense
to protect your pc.....I would not put my trust completely in a AV to protect me. I have found out through experience what one does not detect the other does. and this has worked for me. There is a lot of hipe and marketing on AV telling us they are the best......well what works for one may not work for others.
I respect your opinion . But its better to be safe than sorry.

trojan remover works well, its very fast and the latest edition has rootkit detection abilities by gmer. even with modern av its not bad to have a secondary scanning engine. imo not a waste of money at all.

Neither i put my trsut in any AV. Infact there is always undetectable malware even if u manage to run all available scanners on ur PC.

IMO one signature based product is enough. Two. three or four will not help more than one. It,s just my opinion.

I, too, have used TR for over 5 years. It was a one-off license fee. It's never cost me a penny since. TR is well maintained & well supported. Its proponent (Nigel) has always been very helpful in those rare instances where I had a question or issue.

If you are running a top tier AV (such as Kaspersky, Avira, NOD32, DrWeb, etc) they will catch most all trojans, worms, etc in real-time.

In its on-demand scans, TR will sometimes (rarely) pick up a nasty that was missed by a top-tier AV. But where TR really shines is in REMOVING nasty stuff that even top-tier AVs sometimes struggle with. I guess that is the reason why Nigel chose the name "Trojan REMOVER." :)

I don't know if TR will do it or not but BoClean has Pakes in their covered malware list.

Has Trojan Remover false positives like Trojan Hunter, even on a fresh installed system ?

Last week, I found I was infected with a Vundo variant. Nod32 didn't catch it, BOClean didn't catch it, SuperAntiSpyware didn't catch it, and AVG antimalware caught it but didn't clean it. The Cleaner didn't clean it.

FD-ISR, in contrast, did the business, as always. ;)
