Well almost. It's listed at Majorgeeks.com and confirmed in the OA forum, but the download servers have not been updated yet. Last time I tried I still received 2.1.0.95. There's no sign of a change log yet, but we should know more soon.

    Hi Guys,

Release notes for OA are always located here.

We will have the free version update out ASAP - it takes download.com a day or two to get it updated.

Looks like Neowin.net has the free version available. I haven't tried it just yet. So is the download size now 10 megs?

I believe the reduced file size was due to the removal of local help files. Instead the web based help page would be loaded. Build 112 is running smoothly.

I got it yesterday, it did say it was the new version but when the download had finished it was still the old version but just click on the update button and it will download all 12 files necessary and then ask to be rebooted, you will then have the new version and it's working OK at the moment on my XPHome SP2 :thumb:

Thanks for the new version. Can i do custom install and leave out the firewall or hips?

No - but you can disable HIPS once installed, or remove the firewall.

If you speaking about paid version - just hit "check for updates" and your existing settings will be preserved anyhow.

I've installed the free version and I see there's an option to "block all traffic during system boot" but it's greyed out. Does this mean this feature isn't supported in the free edition and I'm unprotected during boot?!?

Sorry Sunking, I missed you post.

If it is greyed out - it should mean it is not supported.

Hm, being unshielded during boot is a major security hole - especially with a highspeed connection. As much as I like Online Armor, this means back to comodo for me.

Why not test the next build of Online Armor?

Do you run free or paid?

If you run paid, this is 100% a non-issue.
If you run free behind a router - same...
If you run free. directly on the net. almost the same... the chances of someone targeting you personally, during the 20seconds while the machine is on the way up - pretty remote.

Yep, we fixed it last night :)

    It's in testing now.

Concerning the option to block all traffic during a sytem boot: What about programs restricted from internet access..would they be allowed to connect out during this period?

Just curious...I don't use OA (yet) but may in the future.

In the event they managed to start before the firewall engine (not the GUI) - yes, that would certainly be true.

Hm, if you can find someone who can describe a bug in kernel mode code in laymens terms (and still give you reasonable information) I'd like to hire them!
