Creating a 2048 offset partition

    Is there a way i can use DD to create the new Vista offset of 2048 sectors? I tried manually setting a "before" space but it wont allow anything under about 7 MB (from reading i understand this is the cylinder alignment).
    Is the only option manually editing the sectors, anyway i can learn the right parameters, i am sure its not as simple as changing the hidden sectors from 63 to 2048.
