I' d like to see it stay a separate company unto themselves. All I can think about is how Micro$$ buys things and then well I know Netscape was more of a browser but I thought of it in those early days as a portal like Yahoo is to me now. Look at NetScape now. R.I.P. :(

    Thanks Bubba

For some reason the very mention of Microsoft pushing for that acquisition conjures up again the why they left 98/Me in the dust, but OT is indeed the present priority to this subject, so thanks for reminder.

I still hope Yahoo stays independent but financially it might very well turn out to be in their best interest to capitalize on this Lotto.

Remains to be seen though if they choose to be bought out or work out some merger maybe?

Either way, it's still my own belief that theres not a better search field than Google and even if MS acquires them, Google will still lead in that field and maybe even do some acquiring of their own as a response.

So we're now betting on google vs ms, who buys more?
The issue here is preserving competition, not who will win the World Easter :p

    one off topic post removed.
Can't argue that and only requested the new thread creation so the off topic discussion could continue. In fact polls are just that, brief comments after making a choice. When long drawn out posts are made, it then becomes something better suited for a thread topic in one of our other forums.

    they should remain indipendent.
unless you can name a company that has done better when they have been brought out?
trying not to go off topic but most companies when there brought by giants go badly for example norton being brought by symantec, there are countless others.

Yahoo really doesn't need $M as bad as $M needs Yahoo, or so it seems, bcause $M would no doubt muff it up completely. Then again it remains to be seen if Yahoo needs the revenue more than their independence and waiting things out to see if they can move ahead again in the market percentages.
