    hi,
    I didn't bought NOD32 because:
    * no paypal button in official eset websites
    * now if I try the resellers: they can't sell outside their dedicated region (often canada & unite states)
    * my region ( Morroco) is not supported, all resellers are down. (a bit normal , if you know the country better ...). By the way, Paypal doesn't really work for Morocco; but the Paypal account I use, is provided by a friend which live outside (to keep it short).
    * price by resellers are never lower than the one praticed by eset official websites (and can be significantly higher).
    * weird offers by some ressellers: "3 years license" (see pixmania.com).
This isn't offered at eset website (2 year max).
    * lot of people advise to use version 2.7 instead of 3 (this one is said to work better). Why version 3 is even sold then o_O?

Overall, this looked like a mess, and I found it was much easy to order a copy of Kaspersky. Thanks for their paypal option. I also liked that I could specify a billing adress different to the shipping address.

I could also, use a free alternative or just cr... ,
but for once I thought is was interesting to buy (Why... ? I don't want to extend the subject more)

    cheers

You are right. I was just upset by the difficulties I encounterd with NOD32.
I tried to explain why; now if you think that's useless then sorry.
Maybe I should have post this elsewhere ?

Is there no distributor or agent of NOD32 in Morroco?

    It is really sad......

I hope ESET to provide paypal way for buying nod32 in near future.

It's true, I've bought a two years licence in 2006 (they uses another name in that year) without any problem, and very good support to. And I'm from Argentina.

Regretfully I had some problems with 3.xx and are now using other antivirus, regardless I have a valid licence until 8/2008.

 just go back to v2.70 with the same ID and PW, it is surely better than your actual (free ?) AV !!!

Thats why we have competition. If NOD32 wasn't available, you chose something else. I don't see anything wrong with that. Probably a lot of stuff is not available to you because of your location.

Well every three or four month I unistall Nod and install the other best AV, everybody knows the name.
About december I did that and it found a trojan, I dont remember the name, but Nod didnt found when was installed.
On february, about the second week more or less, I do it again because I am not sure about Nod, and the antivirus found a trojan again. This time I write the name. It was "Trojan-PSW.Win32.LdPinch.fsq" and off course Nod didnt found when was installed.
I must say that all times it was with Blackspear recomended settings and with the last updates, and perform a weekly full scan.
So this time I dont install again Nod, and keep the other running and it's running atm.
That is my experience, perhaps in two or three months I will do the same but with Nod, and perhaps it will find something that this one didnt.
    That's the AV world.

I need to remind everyone that you should purchase from your local Eset partners whenever possible. The channels are setup geographically and exceptions to the rules are only possible for situations like student licenses which are not available to a particular region.

Eset's distribution channels should be respected - purchasing from us or another US reseller outside of your geography puts their reseller status at risk - we do not solicit business outside of the USA whenever you have a valid channel to purchase from. Our reseller agreement doesn't allow us to do this, and we do not do it.

thanks for your understanding - support your local resellers!

    kind regards

Do a search in google with "Trojan-PSW.Win32.LdPinch.fsq" and you wont find many things !!!!!!! Is it a real threat ? o_O

Is it always the same "trojan" ? Did you disabled windows restoration point before AV cleaning ?

    Perhaps you don´t understand me.
I didnt said that there was the same trojan.
And of course when I perform a virus clean, I disable windows restore, If you dont that, then dont do a full clean.

But let me explain this point better.
I bought a Nod licence in 2006 after do a full scan with a trial version of it.
And what did this scan found? Off course virus.
And which was the AV I was using in that moment? Yes the other best AV.

So there are no AV to full protect every time.

I do understand you. Just mean, the threat you name is not very known on the net so..... it is not a reason to dont choose NOD32,

and you are right, AV are not perfect but choose one of the best like nod is the best thing to do !

    regards

    "Trojan-PSW.Win32.LdPinch.fsq"
Kaspersky doesn't detect this file anymore. False Positive.

unlikely any av detects every virus.
    unlikely nod32 misses major ones.
nod32 scores very very high on major av tests, higher than most, for more years than most.
