I would like to exclude NOD32 2.7 from scanning utorrent (because it seems to slow utorrent down) and peerguardian (because it throws up a falsepositive). The question is how to do this in version 2.7.

Below are the instructions I have found in relation to version 3

"Instructions for excluding utorrent for ESET NOD32 Anti-virus (Version 3.0)

    1. Goto "Setup"
    2. Toggle "Advanced Mode" if you have not done so yet
    3. Click "Antivirus and antispyware" (located under "Setup")
    4. Under "Web access protection" click on "Configure.."
    5. A setup menu will appear. Expand the "HTTP" tree
    6. Click on "Web browsers".
    7. Find the uTorrent.exe file and hit the check box until a red cross appears next it.
    8. VOILA Firefox and IE will now work whilst running uTorrent".

And for excluding Peerguardian in version 3 are as follows:

    Step 1: Excluding PeerGuardian

    * Open up ESET NOD32
    * In the top right of you screen click "Setup" and then "Advanced Setup" or just hit the "F5" button on your keyboard.
    * Under the heading "Antivirus and antispyware" click on "Exclusions".
    * Click "Add" and navigate to your PG2 Folder (C:\Program Files\PeerGuardian2).
    * Click "OK" on the folder, and you should be left with "C:\Program Files\PeerGuardian2\*.*" in your exclusion list (make sure the *.* bit is there, it's important).

Can anyone please tell me what are the equivalent processes for excluding both in in 2.7?

    thanks

    Hello,

If you open the Control Center > AMON > Setup > Exclusions > Add > Folder, that's where you will navigate to Program Files from.

    Thank you,
    BFG

OK, thanks, BFG. I can exclude peerguardian in the way you suggest, but how do I exclude utorrent from interfering with firefox and IE in NOD. 2.7 similarly to the way set out in my first example (for NOD3.0)? The exclusion process under AMON doesn't seem suited to this, and I would have thought IMON would have been more relevant in any case.

    Hello philebus,

You're absolutely correct and I apologize. I overlooked that.

In IMON you will go Setup > Miscellaneous > Edit > Add. This is a little different than an AMON exclusion in that you can't exclude entire directories, only exe's.

Please let us know if it helps.

    Thank you,
    BFG

Hey BFG thanks again, I'll give it a try.
