    Milliseconds I could live with but Sandboxie used to take an extra 2 or 3 seconds the first time I went on line - very annoying. I would have thought that SafeSpace would have had an even bigger delay. are you saying that there is no noticable delay ? The best I have found so far is Geswall.

    no delay what so ever. I click IE7 icon, and poof, up pops Wilders.;) There is a delay with Sandboxie but here again folks, you are installing this software for security reason, not to become part of the Hendrick Motorsports team.:cautious:

    The problem I was having was not seconds but minutes. I'm not blaming Shadow Defender but it was on reboot after being in Shadow Mode in Shadow Defender beta.

    keep in mind when rebooting it may take longer because it has to revert back all the file and registry changes made while you were in Shadow mode. And again, I have found the current beta and Vista are having issues where as the previous version fit like a charm. So I would download it and try it. Keep in mind, it is the current official release, not the beta.

    I would feel exactly the same and in fact have used various other security apps in the past that to me were just a bit unacceptable come boot time.

    Most users are put off by any noticable delay whether boot time or surfing pages and just don't feel that trade off is the advantage they expected in spite of additional security.

    But then with so many different combos circulating around it just boils down to a process of elimination eventually. Take Erik's boot-to-restore from a FD-ISR frozen snap for example, perhaps his machine was strong enough to not experience delays although IMO the boot up screen halted with the message that the snapshot was being updated and the came the wait period for the Copy/Update, for me i achieved the same results with Power Shadow/Returnil and now Deep Freeze minus any hesitations of that manner, so opted for the fastest optimum boot up.

    no, I have 3 machines with different setups. That is why my avatar changes, which is really stupid on my part. I own a lot of software and play with it like toys. I try to sometimes help others to. ShadowDefender is great. But I just started using this combo and it is lightning quick.

    I have always said Eset has a place in my heart, like Avira does.:thumb:

    Well i'm an old NOD32 fan and it has pulled me out of real pinch once, and cleaned as best it was able, otherwise it was total disaster, and thats my main reason i hold on to On-Demand AV only of this kind, that and to keep my inventory of junk somewhat in order, at least identifiable.

    Finally decided to chime in. Referencing my ol` trusty lap top only as my tower is down awaiting a hdd update and fresh install. :(
    Avast free with only 2 modules loaded. Online Armor free, both FW and HIPS enabled. FF with no script and a couple about:config tweaks. Sandboxie for when I slip over to the DarkSide.

    Lite, quick and loving it. :argh:

    Antivirus = NOD32 3.0.621

    Firewall = Online Armor 2.0(beta 81)

    Antispyware on demand = SuperAntiSpyware

    Antispyware on demand = Spybot

    I also am now using Online Armor's "run safer" option for both IE and FF.

    Windows XP behind a router with hardware firewall, Windows Firewall and Firefox with Noscripts.

    1. Prosecurity Free

    2. Sandboxie Paid

    3. Ad muncher v4.71 Build 28140

    4. Browser Sentinel v2.1.1

    5. DefenseWall v2.10

    KAV 7

    Done away with realtime AV. Feel a bit naked, and weird. I've been using one for years, possibly 10 years realtime. But with both Sandboxie and Defensewall(yes I know it's overkill) I feel running an AV would be redundant. Only time will tell if I dump one of these and go back to running an AV...

    No Router Needed

    Kerio 2.15
    DEEP FREEZE (Standard) w/Mapping Tool
    Anti-Executable
    EQSecure
    SuRun

    My chief fav of them all, of course with FD-ISR i can combo anything, but i was looking for something RAW that might prove reliable without ISR protection.

    I am running NOD 32 Ver.3 , COMODO Ver.3 with Defense+ , Returnil ,Sandboxie, Defense Wall 2.20 behind a Linksys router. I had to do away with SSM because of conflicts with Comodo.
