Usually just irssi for accessing IRC, then bitlbee so I can use irssi to use AIM, though sometimes I am in the mood for a pretty gui so i use pidgin then

    The list is missing mIRC!

I been using that one for years to access IRC channels, really efficient communications app.

    None.
Don't have a need for one. It's always amongst the first items to be disabled from a new OS install.
If someone needs me that urgently,(or vice versa) the phone does the job very well.

None, it's bad enough when they want to get me on the phone.
I don't think it's the type of software that rates high with the antisocial hermit type :D :ninja:

"NB Messenger", "for those persons who want to message nobody".

    :D I can see a market for that :D.

I haven't listed it because mIRC is not considered Instant messaging software like the others offered

Hard to be in the small business network consulting business without needing an IM of all flavors.

    MSN messenger mainly
    sometimes skype
    pidgin portable

have used mIRC, ICQ and yahoo messenger... not anymore

I use what most of my friends use, otherwhise it's pointless

I liked ICQ, but everyone migrated to MSN 5 years ago, and it's boring to be "alone"

I've been trying CQPhone. I think it's one of the best Internet phone software hands down.

Back when I got my first computer and I wanted to try everything, I used an IM with AOL I think. Then every time I went on line folks would send me some silly dialog like Hi how's it going, or did you get my e-mail etc. After a while it became a pain in the a** so when I graduated to my second computer I never even clicked on it.:p

Dropped Yahoo. Giving Miranda a try. Not bad, but takes some getting used to.
