Imgburn for DVD and gone back to NERO 6 for CD 7 is even more overweight than I am.

I'm curious though as to the question. The most important part for burning is the media (Taiyo Yuden 8X ) , next the burner ( glad I still have 3 working BenQs) with the burning software way down the list of importance

I don't think he's going for importance, just trying to get a feel what software is mostly used here on Wilders.

This topic is one of the reasons I'm dual booting with Vista HP and XP Pro. I use CDBurnerXP Pro 4.0.022 on XP Pro for those "must have burns" while using InfraRecorder on Vista HP. Have had quirky troubles with CDBurner XP Pro on Vista.

After uisng Nero (v5 & v6) I switched to Ashampoo Burning Studio (ASB) because Nero was getting more bloated, more complex and more expensive with each new version. I've been using ASB for over a year (currently using version 7.1) and it's far more user-friendly than Nero and far less bloated. Most importantly, it does everything I need to do with CDs & DVD's and it always works! :thumb:

I voted for Ashampoo. I still have the 5.5 version and it's small and lite.

I agree with LongView about the Taiyo Yuden discs, they are the best I have used.

What's up with Roxio's Easy Media Creator?
I used to be a big fan of their products.

Nowadays it's only Nero I use.

Nero 6. Generally works very well, including a good cover designer (that takes a little time to learn to use.) Had to re-install it a couple of times, it's abit bloated, but I don't use it so often that it matters.

I am very happy using Complex Evolution. It does everything I want; DVDs, Music, Data, bootable images, etc. And it's only 2.9 meg. It's great. I've also, in the past, used CDRTFE, as well as Prassi ONES both of which were very good.
