CORRUPT FILE answer -->> External-USB device has ERROR.

Hi all,

I have found External-USB device such as USB-IDE/SATA,
has serious bug.

example:
Internal IDE HDD copy 4GB files to USB-IDE HDD on Windows XP.
no problem.

After copy, I check both 4GB files get different MD5/SHA1 signature.
and, I open CMD, type

fc /b D:\aaa.iso H:\aaa.iso
the fc command report randomize address with different byte every time I check.

Then, I change USB-IDE HDD's jumper (from Master to Slave),
and CMD fc /b again......
WOW......total the same. (of course, MD5 and SHA1 are identical)

I got some answer after examination,
WRITE TO USB-IDE/SATA device are CORRECT DATA,
BUT READ FROM USB-IDE/SATA device are WRONG DATA,
IT WILL CAUSE ACRONIS RESTORE STAGE GET [CORRUPT FILE] REPORT,
DUE TO USB-IDE/SATA chip bug (J.Micro chip)

So, I think if someone has problem like,
Backup -> OK,
Validate Backup -> OK, (with internal device)
move "backup file" to external device through USB-IDE/SATA -> Ok,
restore failed and getting message "corrupt file",
you need change your external HDD jumper to another setting.

maybe try just for checking move back data from external to your restored pc and try again restore....wounder if the "corrupt file" msg will pop up again.

Sure.

If USB-HDD has correct data between host computer,
True Image always RESTORE ok, without any problem.

I think may user who have TI 11 Home face "corrupt file" problem,
because USB-HDD has incompatible with transfer mode.
