Although nothing has 100% detection, 30 or so second opinions are nice to have. :thumb:

I stay away from Limewire... it's almost as if it has a built-in conduit for malware.

Okay I ended up getting BitDefender 2008 and will use AVG Anti-Spyware as well which should be enough considering my lesson learned.

So everything looks good I found that the trojan had attached itself into my java files thats all I know and now it's gone.

About Limewire.... even some MP3 files seem legit until your do the " double Click of death " and no sound comes out ! So it's scary to think about using that again :doubt:

And also considering I THOUGHT I had an anti virus installed my problems could have been going on for over a year !!!

Thanks to everyone for the comments and help this is why Wilders was the first place I logged into when this happened.

    CHEERS !!

I would highly suggest Avast as your new anti virus. It has P2P scanning and Limewire is one of the programs it has protection for. Also get a HIPS program. That could help as well.

Stay with bitdefender, generally speaking detection and reliablility and heuristics are better.
also, i would reccomend swapping anti-virus/spyware programs every couple of months, just to be sure that bitdefender is protecting you.

hmmm, no mention of a firewall before acquiring Bitdefender 2008. all of those P2P connections and nothing monitoring them?! i would bite the bullet and reformat.

.... Yeah like pay for it...

I paid $200 for the licensed program which was a lot easier than filtering out all the crap on my drive !
