coz i use DEEPFREEZE and sanboxie is unnecessary coz all partition is under sanbox

 

I am very surprised at your comments. I was under the impression you had some underlying understanding of sandboxie as to why this was so, not 'because you use Deep Freeze.' Although I understand why you do not need sandboxie, I would not describe as you it as 'crap progy.'

 

Hi run killdisk virus on ur Deep Freezed partition and see how it is defreezed.
Then run it in SBIE to compare!

 

I think SBIE is a great program. There is however a conflict with Trend Micro that causes BSOD. I recommended it to a freind at work and it caused a BSOD. He was able to remove it in safe mode.

I am trying sanboxie out Is it good or not long term?I have read some mixed reviews but mostly good though.

I'm not sure what you mean about long term, but IMO, Sandboxie is pretty good. I personally don't go online without it. The developer seems willing to fix any vulnerabilities or bugs if and when they appear and I have also received great help on their forums when I needed it.

If you don't get along with Sandboxie, by all means, give the other sandbox programs a try. All of them seem to work differently and you may like them better. The whole idea is to isolate your internet facing apps from your real system.

Hi, folks;

I am using DeepFreeze, please read on, it is not OT yet, and like to find some Sandbox application to protect my surfing during DF's thawed state. I like something simple enough just to protect my IE6. I have tested DefenseWall, GesWall, all are good except too many features for my liking.

Is Sandboxie free a good solution to my search? Anyone? Thanks.

 

So far as I know, Sandboxie has never been breached. I've used Sandboxie off and on since it appeared. I've tried the others and always end up back with Sandboxie.

I've read stories of it being beat, but nobody has ever come forward with any facts. It's all "I heard about this from someone who was told" type of thing.

I could be wrong, but as I said, I have never seen proof that Sandboxie has ever been beaten. When some new malware appears, Sandboxie is fixed promptly to deal with it. Keep it up to date and I wouldn't worry.

What I mean is, as far as I know no malware has ever gotten past Sandboxie. I've read of some kind of malware breaking out of the sandbox, but nobody to my knowledge has ever been able to provide evidence that it happened.

 

U must be kidding. It has been breached since long( more than once) though fixed.
There is no such software in this world!

 

Okay, as I said, I've heard it's been breached but it's always second hand information. Of course nothing is perfect, and I never said it was perfect, but I personally have only heard from someone who heard from somebody else about something getting through Sandboxie. If such reports are true, Sandboxie is one of the best at fixing the problem.

 

I got curious. A lot of people find this application improving all the time, and seems to peacefully co-exist with other similar applications (Returnil, DeepFreeze).

I've tried it within ShadowUser, and without SU. Everything seemed to work as advertised (I loved the tutorial that comes with the installation).

One problem I found is my CPU usage: It was constantly running at 40%, when usually it stays at around 3% (that was happening with and without ShadowUser). Another problem I couldn't work out was with Ad Muncher: Whether sandboxed or not it wouldn't filter my browser.

Any comments as to why these things were happening?

Thanks for the link. It is odd as I'm using XP home, but maybe the Ad Muncher version I have is a beta build. The CPU usage seems to be the most serious drawback.
