    Hey,

I am trying to get ahold of a copy of FD-ISR, but I can't find a copy anywhere. I have been able to find a repackaged stripped down version, but I can't seem to find a full copy. I know it is not being developed anymore, but is there anyway to still get it? And any chance of it working on Vista (32 bit)?

    Thanks!

    primesuspect,
Chris is correct, no company, including Horizon Datasys, sells FDISR Workstation anymore, because its development has been terminated forever.
So it's "FirstDefense-ISR Rescue" or another ISR-software, like Baseline Shield, DeepFreeze, PowerShadow, Returnil (freeware), ShadowDefender, ShadowUser, ... or RollbackRx + clones (multiple snapshots).

I guess developper is on a long retreat always pondering the decision he had made and hopefully coming up with something new to please the Wilders crowd.

Yeah, you may be right, but users/customers of the original who proved to their family & friends the ABSOLUTE POWER of FD-ISR can now only salivate to something LEGENDARY they really missed out on, and missed they did.

If LEAPROG ever bounces back again with something as fascinating and as effective as FD-ISR is proven to be, they'll be the comeback kid of the century.

In the meantime, it's all but faded into the sunset for those poor folks

Absolutely wrong. They are working on new FDISR products right now, but only for the Enterprise market which is profitable. You just won't see a workstation product as far as anyone knows.

The most profitable market should be the consumermarket,at least the biggest i guess but its not profitable for the simple reason...there is no money... to get into it. Smaller companies lack the means to advertise and stuff.

It's clear this thread has run it's course. I'll leave it open a bit just in case someone else wants to post something specific to the OP's question.

    Erik,

Thanks for the suggestions. All of those apps would take a long time to try. . . Do you maybe have a top 2 or 3 out of those you listed?

Thanks Gary. Does anyone happen to know if this is the full version of FD-ISR?

It could never be like FD-ISR, i don't guess, maybe it could someday, but i would recommend trying out EAZ-FIX. It's reasonably feature rich but most of all STABLE! and you can at least store .ebi snapshot images it makes, and it's snapshots AFTER BASELINE are a snap as in microseconds, well seconds really, but you can ditch any locked or not locked and dismiss them as well as keep ones you want to ADD to the UPDATE BASELINE and LOCK that one in as a main fallback snapshot.

There are reasonably good and imaginative ways to benefit and or have fun with EAZ-FIX, it's totally different than old FD-ISR, but at least it works, and works Quick and is reliable.

The $475 option is for the Server version, which appears to be the same as the no longer available Pro version and is obviously priced for commercial use.
    Would be an extravagance.

    Getting away from all the hype,your sensible options are;

(1)FDISR-Rescue-a stripped down version which may be quite adequate

    (2) RollbackRX or Eazi-Fix both excellent ISRs,very fast and complete but different in style to FDISR,

    (3) ShadowProtect-a fully fledged imaging program, which may be quite usable as an ISR substitute,as its operations are fast.

Suggest you trial 1 and 2 first.

Think you will like Rollback-Eazi-Fix,they can perform functions that FDISR couldnt and vice versa,so there is no absolutes at all in judging any of these.

A few months ago i would have gone ballistic over such a claim, a least concerning RollBackRx, bt i now find EAZ-FIX excellent and stable with no issues except don't wipe file clusters with it running or hard drive space will be completely expended. A lesson learned ut not critical ot dsestructive at all.

    I like it.

It is clear the OP's question has been answered. I don't think there is anymore on topic discussion possible in this thread, so it is closed.
