im using ess for now, but i guess nod32 + firewall (comodo or online armor)

If you want a firewall that catches leaks or has HIPS like features, then yes a different firewall would be better.

Otherwise the firewall in ESS is fine.

I wouldn't use the ess firewall at all.

So I guess EAV with a firewall like Zone Alarm is better than ESS.

there was a problem with earlier version of comodo v3, but with the last one i think there are no more issues.

That issue is just over hyped. You can just turn proxying off.

I've used NOD V2.7 and earlyer with LNS and am currently using NOD32 V3 with LNS. Never had nor do I currently have any problems running the two together. For me they work perfect together. :D

Is there any advantage in turning off the proxy in NOD32 v3 than just using v2.7?

I tried many configurations and always failed the leaktest with v3, but pass with v2.7
