Which Protocol Filtering Mode is Best?

Of the three modes, which is most thorough?

1. All HTTP ports
2. Browser applications
3. HTTP ports and browser applications

Obviously, I've paraphrased the three options. I just want the one that is most effective at catching the baddies.

i would say default otherwise it wouldnt be default.

 

Normally yes, but Blackspear's seemed to be the preferred options in version 2.7 as opposed to the default, so you never know.

 

the 3rd will cover just about all.

 

My guess would be no.1....HTTP and Pop3 ports...all ports are "guard" with "ThreatSense" nada will miss or else i'm wrong...

 

If I am not mistaken, 3 is 1 and 2.

 

..if you tick no.1 did you notice all grey out in "Web browsers"...you can't exclude any...i'm asuming all will scan through the ThreatSense...?

 

this is true, if you choose my method, all get scanned and it doesnt allow you to exclude any. Persoanlly I dont want to.

 

I'm sorry trjam, if one choose your method = "3" you can exclude any (tick/untick/cross)...but by choosing no.1...no, you can exclude any all will be scanned...

..and yes i do preferred to "scan all" ....that's why i'm chosen no.1 (no hassle and peace in mind - you don't need to worries if you miss something by accidentally untick or cross the boxes)
