Decided to renew my subscription this evening as it's almost up now, and the offer was cheap around £10.

Went to download site via gui and paid for 1 year antispy renewal (wasn't tempted by the antivirus offer) and was sent an email with new licence number plus download link. Strange, I thought, a download, even stranger when I realised the download was 54MB's.

Looks like they have sent me the firewall and everything else which I don't want.

All I want is just to renew.

Have asked support what do I do now?

All I wanted was just a new licence number to enter like I always have which would renew me for another year.

I don't know why I have to download it again and reinstall, I already have it paid and running. I just want to extend for another year and have paid to do so yesterday.

Avg now say I have to uninstall and then download it again from site, reinstall and enter another number...why?

They haven't even mentioned the firewall and anti virus they have sent me by mistake.

Just an update, AVG emailed and apologised for the incorrect instuctions so now after just imputting the new licence, as I have always done, am renewed for another year.:)

Some people might wonder why I renewed, well AVG antispyware (or Ewido as I still think of it) has never caused any conflicts on my system, just runs quietly in the background causing no hassels....that's why.
