Is it safe to install latest version of TI 11

Just wanted to know if the new version of TI 11 8,053 is still very buggy or has most of the bugs been fixed ? Should i wait for the next version update before installing ? I usually do manual backups by the way and is TI 11 working correctly for manual backups and recovery ?

 

I upgraded from ATIv8 to ATIHv11 with no regrets as it works well for me.

What have you got to loose?
Check that your machine and OS will be compatible with ATIHv11. Your post indicates that you have a backup, make sure it is current, then you could purchase ATIHv11 on-line with the 30 day money back guarantee. If you install the downloaded software and play to your hearts content and find out it is unreasonably bug ridden you could get your money back. Your prior backup should be capable of returning your system to its original status.

Please note I am NOT telling you what to do but simply pointing out a practical route you could take. Your actions are your sole responsibly.

ATIv8 did not work well for me and when Ghost finally caved in and refused to do my bidding I turned again to ATI. Reading the posts in this Forum showed that many were successfully creating Images and able to Restore their Systems and/or Data. This was gleaned from the respondents replies not the thread starters posts. Very few users write to say how pleased they are with a product, invariably the threads start as a complaint or cry for help.

Perhaps it is time to be brave?

 

To give you some idea, the following probs occur on some but not necessarily all hardware:

The BootCD still has trouble seeing some Intel RAIDs.
In windows it totally hangs when doing file by file (My Data) backups of large numbers of directories and files (I think this is a minority of machines, but not entirely rare).
The progress indiators are often wonky
The BootCD has problems with some laptops and USBs, on which backups can take many minutes pr GB to backup -- a new laptop with Vista loaded can take many hours to backup.
Backup tasks run from the ATI scheduler don't run -- this might or might not be limited to cases where the target directory contains diff or inc backups

In fact most of the bugs of the first release are still present, although some to a lesser degree.

I have one machine on which ATI 11 runs reliably -- makes backups and can do restores from the BootCD although I've stopped using ATI bootCDs altogether and switched to the VistaPE disk using Mustang's script file for ATI 11.

If running the free trial isn't enough to give you full confidence, then, imo, wait for a later build.

 

Ok , thanks will decide to wait for the next version to see if they get rid of some of those bugs you mentioned..

 

Using Firewire external disks instead of USB disks for back-up will prevent a lot of the Linux USB driver/speed problems with the boot disk. I use firewire both on my desktop (xp) and laptop (vista) and have no performance problems with the Linux boot CD.
