Why I Am Staying With Online Armor

I was using Comodo 3.0 and downloaded Shields Up Firewall tester and I denied access to it. Then ran the test 3 more times and it failed. Uninstalled Comodo and installed Online Armor. Ran the same test and denied access then when I ran the test again it denied access to even opening the file. It quarantined it. Sure Comodo might be great but I cant bother with all the settings and that pending file things. I an keeping Online Armor and it works great with my NOD32.

 

I think you're using Nod32 V3.0

If you use Comodo V3 with Nod32 V3, there's some problem

Yes I am using NOD32 3.0. Thats what I mean. Too many problems with Comodo. Just look in there forums. I have no conflicts with Online Armor.

It was a question.....most people ask questions and do not make feedback. I thought feedback was for the developers forum.
I have been a bragger of cpf for a long time but i never made an entire thread to show i love it. You just keep repeating this in your posts. Just saying there is no need for a thread. Changed the question.

Just tried the test. Pass everytime. All i did was pick block this request and untick remember my answer and ok.

I've never even used Comodo and still don't like it - because of the slight feeling of a "gang rape" approach some parts of it's community indulge into (just look at your sig, ). Hats down to some individuals, but starting from the head of the company, hmmm... Where I'm from, people say "fish stinks from it's head"... So, I just don't like Comodo a priori (now days, even consider dropping BOClean...).

... And all this is because I can express this without asking *you* to do so, Coolio10.Win32. Perhaps a number of other people share similar view, so they start threads like this...

I think your opinion is a bit side way-ed---skidding and skidding on the BLACK ICE, because you do not know how to steer, even though you are a x years rate AAA driver. You put down one excellent app due to problems you personally encountered. C'mon be realistic. Both ARE excellent apps.

OA has its die-hard followers, so does Comodo FW 3.

If you feel you are smart enough to choose a great app, then how about those thousands who happen to be very much die-hard Comodo 3 fans? Do they look like world-class fools ? Perhaps they are not as smart as you could be, but they have brains too. Seeing one single black sheep, then telling everyone all the sheep in the world are indeed in black colour. A frog in the deep bottom of the well is exactly what my Mom usually calls it.

I played with Comodo 2.4 first.............it never remembered anything. Then 3.0 came along and I played with it for a week. Too many options and that pending file thing is dumb. I gave Comodo a fair shot. I switched to Online Armor and it was a dream. I think Comodo 3.0 was rushed. Why do you think they released another version of 3.0 so soon. Like 3 days later. Online Armor give me no trouble. Doesnt bug you. It just does what its suppose to do. Protect. Protect and bother is uncalled for.

 

My sig is older than sygate. This sig was made up in the comodo forum when version 2 just came out. If it offends you that much i will remove it but a bunny can't be too intimidating can it . You believe comodo is a gang rape but as soon as online armor free came see how many people said comodo sucked even though it was still in beta. I am still trying to get people to understand that not all companies focus on 1 product. Norton for example has been hated for years compared to kaspersky or nod32 but how many more products does norton need to manage compared to kaspersky/nod32...couple billion?

I Agree that pending files thing is a bad idea but tell me how much longer online armor has been out to ripen(fix issues) while cpf3 is still growing(fixing issues). You were lucky to find out about online armor later after it is released but read through the oa release thread and tell me it also did not have bugs when it came out. You tried cpf3 as soon as it came out and tried online armor while it has been out for a month now. Is that really fair?

 

Also keep in mind each system is not the same, how a program reacts can all come down to how a user uses his or her system and what other programs are there and how they react with each other. A Firewall A vs Firewall B cannot be thoroughly discussed when it comes to how it works on one person's system vs another person's, IMHO.

Online Armor (which I'm actually having issues with regarding Emule), Comodo, Webroot, and the others all make good software, or they would not still be around. Some will work better on one system and not on another, and some folks like certain features that some software does not have but others do. Pick the software that works best on your system and has the features you want, sometimes, as with everything in life, you'll need to compromise. Nothing is ever perfect.

Software will only get better and will only get fixed if we give feedback to the developers themselves, not have A vs B threads in a security forum. These threads can be very useful when discussing certain features that make one product more useful and more secure over another, but not " I can't be bothered to ask questions and spend time learning why my software is not doing as I ask it, so I'll dump it and move on" types of discussions.

Perhaps Comodo had a great idea and implemented it too soon, however I still believe they had their users best interests at heart and will do everything they can to keep their great reputation intact and fix anything that needs fixing. I mean no personal disrespect towards those that do complain, not at all, but maybe they are complaining to the wrong folks? Just my personal opinion.

 

It's simply a question of set up in NOD. Yours is not set up correctly to deal with this.

 

David - this is fixed for next build (at least, torrents is, and emule should be).

If you would like to try the beta, whiz me a PM (either here or at the OA forums)... or, you could just wait a couple of weeks for the official release.

 

Hey Mike, I can wait actually, it isn't a terrible issue it just seems that my TCP/UDP ports go unreachable on and off, which causes Low ID's and such. I've checked and checked all my settings, the router is forwarded, tried changing ports, the IP is static and such, so my only guess is that maybe OA is having an issue someplace (or may not be, just not sure where else to look).
