Has the issue of deleted and moved files with incremental backups been resolved?

I have not looked at this issue in a long time, but it used to be that, if I made a lot of incremental backups, files that had been deleted or removed would be restored in the locations where they were located when the first backup was made.

That means moved files would be duplicated and deleted files would reappear.

Has it gotten any smarter? If I delete a file several incremental backups after the last full backup, and subsequently restore the entire partition to the most current state, will the file still be deleted?

    Thanx,
    Steven

    Hello neo314,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Could you please clarify, what exact version and build of Acronis True Image have you encountered the described issue in? You can find the full version name and build number by going to Help -> About... menu in the main program window. Please also clarify, does the problem appear with disk/partition images, or file/folder backups?

    Thank you.

I am using acronis true image home 10 build 4942, but I am not describing a problem I had. Restoring files that were deleted/moved between a full backup and an incremental backup used to be a normally expected event.

I have not tested whether that is still the case, but I noticed that the description in restore now is of restoring the disk to the state it was in on the date of the backup, so I was asking whether incremental backups now account for deleted/moved files?

Here is a good example. I d a full backup. I empty my trash. I do an incremental backup. If I then restore to the most recent (incremental) backup, will the files that were in the trash be restored?

If this is a difficult question to answer, I can test to find the answer. I just thought it was a straight forward question.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello neo314,

With the described setup the files that were in the trash will not be restored.

    Thank you.
