Sorry if this is covered in manual but just got trial and didn't see answer at first glance.

I would like to perform a full backup followed by daily incremental backups on an external drive. Once a month (or week), I'd like to remove that drive to another location and make a new full backup followed by incremental backups to a second drive.

In other words, I'd like to rotate my backups between 2 drives so that I always have one additional backed up drive in the wings.

Is this possible with TrueImage? I know that Retrospect can do this.

    Thank you.

That can be done. No problem as long as the increments are in the same place as the base image and this is what you are going to do anyway.

Only other thing to mention is, if making your backups via a task, then make sure your second drive has the same drive letter assigned to it, othewise your task will fail.

Having said that, it most likely will have the same letter if it a direct USB port plug to plug replacement.

I probably could have explained that better, but I'm off to bed now! :)

Could you give me specific setup? I want a full backup once a week followed by daily incrementals. On eighth day, I'd replace with 2nd drive to begin new full backup followed by incremental backups as before.

So I create a backup job A that does a full backup followed by 6 differentials to backup location A (on external drive). That takes care of my first drive. How do I do the second drive? Do I just create an identical backup location on the second drive and just substitute drives and use backup job A? Or do I need to set up 2 separate jobs?

I need hand holding on this and appreciate your help.

    Thaniks.

If you erase the backup files from the second drive, Acronis will first create a new backup, then incrementally backup daily from there. At day 9, when you go to put backup drive 1 in, erase the backups from it and Acronis will start over.

If you do that, and have each drive with the same drive letter you will only need one scheduled task for both drives.

In fact you could do this with even more drives if you wanted.

    Does that help?
