I don't see any system requirements. Is it Vista compatible?

Obviously it's a screen shot of the app.

Looks pretty shaky to me......I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft. pole.

Gee, who else uses the term "jailed" Don't suppose this could be a Prevx knockoff. I agree, not sure I'd mess with it.

It's not compatible with Vista. I have seen it also at Softpedia and zdnet.

This one? So the FW of Hurricanesoft is also buggy. The GUI is ok though; simple and clean like ccsito said. In another thread the FW was said to be bad. Blackcat said it failed all of the tests at PC Flank and Shields UP at grc.

Thanks everyone for commenting. I sent the installer of the suite to F-Secure Labs for analysis. It was found to be clean. I wonder if the AV and AS integrated in the suite can actually detect malware. Nonetheless, I hope the next release will be good and stable.

    Regards,

From what I read on the website, it is an application monitor type polling hips. Might be useful to those who like that kind of thing. You certainly can't beat the price unless it craps your machine.

    SourMilk out :ninja:

Hmmm. Not even with an 11 foot pole. :D

Someone who tried it out posted a comment that the program took a large amount of system resources to run. For a program with a very small download, you wonder what it is REALLY doing? o_O

It really looks like some play thing. It can't be doing any detection as it looks from here

Doesn't look very nice... Hideous GUI!

I have it running in a virtual machine. It seems only to list processes. Maybe it is more capable, but so far it is not doing much...

It claims to protect against hackers, trojans and viruses. I doesn't detect the eicar file, though, for what that is worth.

Without testing further I would say that this program is not an AV product in the normal sense of the term. Its documentation is so limited that it doesn't even claim to do anything specific.

UPDATE: This is a bizzare program. It holds up any processes you start (such as Internet Explorer, the command line, netstat etc.) until you manually release them from the 'jail'. Why you would want this feature I don't know. By default 'block everything' is off, although it seems to stop the processes anyway. Maybe jail is not the same as block... Either way, not an essential tool in your anti-malware toolkit, I would think.

Hurricanesoft pulled out the Firewall and Security Suite. They are now selling "Hurricanesoft Work Sheet - Orders".
