a-squared Anti-Malware

Yes this is a very nice program. I feel it has to be very good for Real Time protection because of its many signatures and Heuristics, but especially because of its IDS detection. It also runs smoothly with many other programs I have tried, and is currently running very well with Avast Home and Webroot Desktop Firewall, (with Dynamic Security Agent enabled) with no slowdowns. The only draw back I see to using it, at least for me is the price. However if it does what it claims it may well be worth it for some people.

 

I like the program, and it has done a great job cleaning up some of my clients' computers. My only issue is that it loads a process even when you are using the on-demand only capabilities. I have also had issues with the process staying installed when the program is uninstalled.

The ability to fully uninstall a program to a point as if it was never there is important to me. I hope this is something that can be addressed in the future. Other than than the process and uninstall issues, it's one of my favorite programs.

 

Finally something you & me agree on something. I like A-squared too.
It eats a bit memory thant the others but what counts is its cpu usage lower than the rest. So it a excellent antitrojan with mallware-intrusion detection system which uses behavioral analysis.

 

Do you need a dedicated anti-spyware like CounterSpy with a-squared? I am running Comodo Firewall with Defense+. Is Defense+, or Webroot's (privacyware) DSA redundant with a-squared's IDS?

 

Never run Counterspy with A-Squared or any antispyware, it will conflict. I tried it before with counterspy & everything goes nuts. Remember one antivirus, one antispyware/antimallware & one firewall in realtime only. Im using A-Squared with Comodo by the way no conflicts.

 

So Defense+ isn't redundant for a-squared's IDS? I had to run Defense+ in training mode because it was going crazy.

 

You have to add a-squared to comodo trusted vendors list in defense plus to work & choose safe mode instead. Also create a rule in a-squared background guard for comodo to allow it all privileges.!1
