    IC, These are my reasons why I uninstalled Online Armor & Switched to Comodo Version 3.?

    Comodo Firewall(VER.3)=Network Firewall,Cpu Firewall(HIPS), Registry Firewall, File Firewall*puppy*

    Online Armor= Network Firewall & Cpu Firewall(HIPS),:D

    As you can see there is a big difference here...:)

    Hi Old Monk, Have no fear. I've been around too long to make a judgement based on one persons rant. Actually, as I read the subsequent posts OA sounds really good.:)

    Sorry, but do you have any actual facts or numbers showing what exe's consumed what resources for each FW? Peak RAM, CPU %?

    It would be good to see a fact based side by side comparison.

    I've used both these products.

    On my system OA takes less resource than NOD 32.

    Do you know all the process names for OA in the task manager? I see one called "oaui.exe" and it's only using 6,652k. I don't see anything using excessive memory except for Firefox. It's currently up to 86,864k and I haven't used it that much this morning. I don't know if it has memory issues or not but I've seen it easily double that the longer I have it open. nod32krn.exe is using 25,288k.

    I don't see any other obvious Online Armor processes going on so maybe I'm missing something. My system has been running fine, no slow downs, etc.

    I'm using the Online Armor version without the a/v module but not the free version.

    You are still not convincing me with "no figures" and "maybe's"

    Hi JimmyD:

    You work with actual data! Good.

    FYI, mine is:

    oasrv=5704k
    oaui=6904

    I run OA 2 in advanced with web shield disabled I don't have Kav since Nod32 is my AV.

    BTW, your FF seems heavy compared to mine at 53,748k.

    Re: Online Armor....

    Yeah, I usually keep around 5 tabs open at a time, using FF version 2.0.0.9 and it's now at 93,208K. Not sure what's causing it.

    Anyway, don't want to steer the thread off-topic. As I've said earlier, I like what I see with OA so far and if things keep going well, I will be purchasing it. :thumb:

    Too bad I can't change the title of this thread. While it may attract more participants, I posted when I was frustrated and no longer feel that way. :D

    Ff will vary greatly depending on how many tabs are opened, what's in those tabs, etc. I've had Ff using well over 100,000k, but that was with 25 tabs open!!

    Yes there is a difference. But you said that OA was "heavy on resources", and that has definitely NOT been my experience. From what I hear about CFP 3, it is using well into the 25-40 MB of RAM range, more than twice that of OA.

    I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but tread litely. That comment could be taken as very sarcastic. So you like Comodo, thats fine, but this same kind of comment could be made in the comodo threads and it isn't appropriate. No more please.

    Over on the Comodo forums there is already something about "kicking out all of the OA users"
    Not suprised at all by these comments

    So i can't be sarcastic without it relating to comodo?
    Bet if i said the same thing but for comodo forums it wouldn't be sarcastic anymore :shifty: .

    Very impressive, but I don't want to get into a wee-wee contest. Different apps appeal to different people for different reasons. I'm sure you can appreciate that.

    The same would be true for the same kinds of comments made in comodo threads. I am asking you politely....

    So far, so good.

    Mods: Since this thread has served it's purpose (and I don't like the title that I created) feel free to close it down. I'm a happy camper at this point. :thumb:
