SO when downloading an update to another software I have on my computer, I noticed Nod give me a warning that the program had been changed and whether or not I wanted to allow that change.

Is this a venture towards some type of HIPS behavioral Monitoring?

It just remembers the file hash and compares it upon execution. When the file has changed, it asks if you want to allow it. If it's been changed by an update, you'll know that it's safe. If that's not the case, the file might have been changed by a virus. But that's not a behavioural monitoring.

YEah I spoke before remembering that they have the monitoring for application modifications on there.

    Guess I was just hoping.

It would be nice for a decent all in one low resource system.
