I'm running Vista 32 and Smart Security version 560. It seems to run great on my machine, but with Smart Security installed, a lot of images don't load in IE7 or any other browser I try (Firefox, Safari, Opera). I end up having to refresh the page, and that seems to help with loading the images. I've tried all of the standard fixes such as clearing my browser's cache, but that doesn't seem to affect things at all. What fixes the problem is removing Smart Security from my system. With it out of the picture, I no longer have the problem. If I reinstall, I start having the problem again. BTW, I listed IE7 in the subject because I use it the most.

Is this a known issue? Please help! It's a really annoying...

I'll give it a shot... I upgraded not that long ago, but I must have missed that version.

    Thanks!

You are quite welcome. Glad you got it sorted out!

How is ESS running for you (other than this problem) that you just had? I'm just curious.

I was a long time user of ZoneAlarm's Internet security suite, but they've really let their quality control go downhill, and I just couldn't justify spending any more money on a product that causes me so many issues. When I moved to Vista, using their solution caused my system to become completely unstable. Luckily, stability returned once it was removed. I tried several other security suites in an attempt to find the right mix of features and stability, but they all fell short. I'm a research nut, so I spent a lot of time researching what other options were available to run on Vista.

I'd never used any Eset software in the past, but I'd heard great things about NOD32. So when I read that a beta version of ESS was available, I thought I'd give it a try. There are a few areas that need some improvement, but overall my system has remained stable and things work correctly. I installed the 30-trial version once it became available, and I was disappointed by the web browser/image problem presented itself because I thought I'd finally found the security suite I was looking for.

Luckily, you were able to provide me with a fix that solved the issue perfectly. As I mentioned before, there are still things that need to be worked on, but this security suite is by far the least performance/memory impacting and most stable software of this type available on the Windows Vista platform. I'll definitely be purchasing it.

    Again... Thank you!

Good to know that overall you are enjoying the product. I have been a NOD32 user for I guess about 3-4 years now. I always enjoyed the lightness factor since I am a gamer, and like to have minimal resources being used.

That said, so far I am liking ESS. Is it perfect? No. Then again nothing really is. I have a lot of faith in Eset and that they will make things right to continually improve their product. So much so that this past week I upgraded 3 licenses that I own, up until 2011! :)

Thanks for getting back to me, and I was glad to help!
