    Hello,

I am currently in an unfortunate position of having to use Vista on my laptop and find myself jumping through hoops to get applications installed for one reason or another.

At the top of my problem install list I have Nod32 V3 - I recently had the v2 trial running which expired - Before I was about to purchase a licence for this one (I already run V2 on my main PC) V3 came out.

I first uninstalled V2 and then had a look at the security suite trial to see first hand the new and exciting features, however I prefered my Outpost Firewall 2008 application & chose to uninstall the security suite an hour or so later. I did have problems uninstalling the V3 program though as it hung midway through and I was forced to end take then try again - It then uninstalled what appeared to be correctly.

I then decided that the V3 antivirus would be exactly what I want to use so attempted to install the trial but was faced with a number of errors but the only one I have now is "Could Not write value ConfigPath.."

    See:

    Press ok and then:

    And lastly:

I have attempted many ways to get this app installed:
    • Installed & ran MS isntaller clean up utility
    • Rebooted into windows with no services/start up programs running & then install
    • Booting into safe mode & enableing the MS installer service.
    • Downloading a fresh version.
    • Installing previouse V2 trial to uninstall (Install fails with its own error).
    • installing sercutiy suite again - this installs correctly.
    • Uninstalling security suite again - this time in full.
    • Disabling UAC & rebooting 3 or 4 times then reinstalling.

I am running vista home premium on a bog standard laptop - I have to this point tried everything I can think of to get this app installed.

Is anyone in the same boat as myself or does anyone know why exactly this error message is being presented? Especialy when the UAC control is disabled & no other application is running to cause this exception?

    Thanks.

Do you want to give ccleaner a go? It cleans all your temporary data and your registry.

Thanks zaid786 - I forgot to add in my initial post I ran CCleaner a few times and still had the issue - I did a bit more searching and found the following post:

Searching on 'ConfigPath' lead me to it! I uninstalled Outpost firewall - Installed Nod - Reinstalled the firwall and all is well now!

I hope this helps someone else in the future.
