Is that the only bug fixed from the plague? EAV3 still has more reported bugs than a bed in a Calcutta brothel.

I am VERY disappointed with all this. I have never seen such a terrible release. Eset's previous fine reputation is flushing down the toilet.

The speed of information coming back from Eset used to be quite good, but now it is truly terrible. It seems like they have more bugs and problems than they can handle quickly.

I'm sure Marcos posted based on the information he got, but the file is obviously the same old 3.0.551. I'm sure he is looking into this and i guess this will be sorted out pretty soon. Anyway there isn't much we can do and doesn't really help to post a complaint every 2 minutes. I guess it's not the end of the world if we have to wait for one more hour to get the 3.0.560 release. It's not like i think eset done everything right in this case, but i don't think all of this complaints will help getting an answer from Marcos or anyone else from eset. If the new version is available for download soon then at least they might have fixed one bug 1 day after the release. Hopefully they will solve several more during this week and the next.

I think the top priority for eset is to fix the bugs and probably working hard and as fast as they can. Then it might be hard for the developers to give information about the latest status so it can be posted on this board fast enough.

As Marcos said in the first post: Yes you can upgrade from .551.

And by the way it's still the same old .551 even if the text says .560.

Seems like a company in chaos. Perhaps what they need is a group of beta testers that do have some compensation for testing and submitting feedback, no one likes to submit feedback for free when the company at the end of it all makes serious money from the release.

Yeah, I'm hearing toilets flushing here too. :doubt:

I am a new poster at Wilder's but I have been a reader for years so I am not such a real newbie. :) I don't think anybody blames Marcos personally for Eset's stuff ups. He is just the guy with the target on his shirt. He tries his best.

Your faint whisper of praise is lost in the roar of disapproval from the multitude. :)

I guess your right. Version 2.7 and rc1 works,so bugger it ,im not installing any other build version ,as what im seeing here seems to indicate quite a few build releases being churned out over the coming weeks.

I'm still at 2.7 and working great....i don't really need a new version, but when stable i will probably upgrade. Not sure why some people must have the latest version today when it's not working for them. I'm sure most could live a happy life with the previous version for some more days/weeks.

My Nod 32 still at 2.7. It runs well, doesn't cause me troubles.

Based on the posts here, I will hold off on V3 til it is as stable as 2.7.:'(

I don't know why this has happened in this case, but a list from Wilder's forums alone from 2007 would produce quite a list of premature buggy releases. It is becoming an unacceptable norm.

IMHO, we shoot ourselves in the foot by pressing these firms to meet deadlines for releases that were set by whom? The marketing guys maybe?
How many new sales will they have today with all these posts?

We post stuff like it was supposed to be out on X where is it, it is finally out, well be carefull what you ask for you may get it (early it would seem)

This SW industry seems to lack quality control on it's new products. Even car companies now know how to do that!

Some day a SW firm will build and keep a good reputation by releasing new versions/ builds when they are debugged and stable in real beta tests.

    This is sad and avoidable.

If Eset, or any company waited until all bugs were eliminated, they would never release software.

Not making any excuses for Eset but I worked 30 years in the airline industry and 12 in the automotive. Everything has bugs and has to be corrected after they hit the masses.

Then maybe they need a hard core group of beta testers to squash more bugs than are currently being squashed by the ESET team internally.:isay:

Just installed .560 over the top of the .551 version without any issues.

Again, I must be one of the fortunate few posting on Wilders as I've encountered zero problems thus far.

Hopefully those of you with problems get them resolved ASAP.

    Cheers.

I just did the install of .560 over .551 as well. All went smoothly and my Outlook express issue seems to be resolved. Thanks to all concerned.

    NOD32 version 3.0.551.0
Windows XP Pro, SP2 with Sunbelt Kerio 4.5.916

I find this thread very frustrating. I've had problems with NOD32 in the past and I'm not here to defend Eset but it's absolutely pointless saying you have problems and this and that without specifying the OS you use, and other security software which might be in conflict with NOD32.
I'm having no problems whatsoever with the latest release, though I don't doubt for one minute people are having problems. It's just that it would help greatly if I knew whether or not they were using Vista, for example, or some other spyware program. That way we can determine whether there's a pattern.
