A newer ESS installer 3.0.560 is available for download from the download page. (the information on the website will be updated shortly)

    - fixed problem with Outlook Express closing immediately after startup

It can be installed over the existing version. Please download and install it only if you are experiencing the aforementioned problem.

From what I can see, the so called new installer is exactly the same as the previous one. Am I wrong?

No, you are correct. Just downloaded it and all it wanted to do was either repair my current installation or remove it, which means all I downloaded was the 551 version.

No, let it be. The Problem is on ESET's Side. There nowhere the newest installer avaible at the moment it seems. But, why noone from ESET advise us about that ?

You will need to re-download. I suggest uninstall and re-download. I tried just downloading over 551 and had problems.

I tried to download this new update for ESS with the I think fourth license number that I got from Eset. This because of their license problems. And they did it again: send me a new license and it's for the AV only product; I bought the ESS!!!!!! The requests for the correct license, with correct dates where for ESS!!!! When will Eset get its act together?!

    Same here.

I thought the same had happened to me too. The e-mail containing the username and pasword mentions "NOD32 Antivirus" all the way through it, except for the "Product Purchased" line which says ESET Smart Security. The e-mail even mentions how to install NOD32 v2.5, so I guess their e-mail template needs updating!

    Steve.

Well, its even worse. The license really is for the AV only product. I can't download ESS with it.

But has the wrong date. And Eset keeps on sending licenses for AV-only instead of ESS with the correct date... I PM'ed you now again too :) And I hope that it gets sorted out.

:) I installed the 3.0.560 ESS version, as I was experiencing the OE crashing. However, this morning the crash happened again! Actually, it happened several times, so the issue might not yet be quite resolved. When I open OE, there is a "bing" sound, and OE immediately closes or disappears from view. In addition, upon startup this morning, the system tray icon was red and the control panel indicated something to the effect that real time scanner was disabled "by the user." Which, of course, I did not do. I did a "repair" install of this newest version, and the scanner issue did show up again, so apparently this happens the first time this new repair version is run. Except for these couple of things, which will eventually get resolved, ESS is working well.;)

For me, the problem with Outlook Express disappeared when I installed the latest ESS v. 3.0.560. But the lag when closing OE still exists.

:D Yes, I also have that lag time when closing OE. It almost seems like ESS takes a little time to "remove" its toolbar from OE before the program can close. Although not "elegant," it's a very minor lag I can live with.
Also, since my last post above, I have not had the OE crashing anymore. Not sure what happened, but it's worked flawlessly since then.o_O It's a good program (ESS, that is)!
