Not true. Both ESS & EAV usernames starts with EAV-. See product description/platform.

Also take care to verify the expiration date and number of PC's covered. So far I've had 2 out of the 3 possible wrong permutations assuming the correct product, which is understandable in the flood of activity and (likely) manual corrections being processed as well. These will certainly get ironed out over the next couple of days, just take care to verify information in the emails as they are received.

    No, this is not understandable.

Processing licence keys is not rocket science. It's just this kind of 'amateurish' mistake which gives Eset's detractors (and the magazine reviewers) ammunition and puts off new customers.

A few known issues at this point:

Some licenses will not allow downloading of 3.0 only 2.7
Some license are "Business Edition licenses" which do not allow downloading of EAV 3.0
    Some licenses fail altogether

Any of these categories please email me the Username for AV- numbers and the UN + PW for EAV- numbers and these will be passed on to ESET to help with investigating the issue.

I was extrapolating that some of the quick fixes we're seeing could be manually performed - and in that context alone a higher level of errors would understandable.

The initial issues - automatically generating the wrong keys, key dates, or being unable to use an existing key for a straightforward NOD32 V3 download - are rather difficult to understand. I do agree, a number of aspects of this rollout have been amateurishly executed.

Still not working....I'm trying to download just the 3.0 AV..not ESS...using tons of usernames/passwords from a list of clients I have...currently renewed ones even.

If you have purchased NOD32 Enterprise Edition before, the appropriate v3 products have not been released and thus your license doesn't work for home edition products. ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition, ESET Smart Security Business Edition as well as ESET Remote Administrator 2.0 will be released a bit later as announced on the ESET website.

that's PART of the problem - apparently, EAV- codes will be issued for both Eset Antivirus and Eset Smart Security (who knew?)... so try that 2nd license, it might work. I would check the product DESCRIPTION as well in the email from Eset.

I just got the licenses for 2 machines but it was suppose to include the 45 days I had remainding. Granted a great price for 2 licenses but are you not intitled to the remaining time on your license?

Yes, you are! Eset had mine to originally expire in 1 year when there was 20 months left on the old one. Reseller is trying to get it straight now. If you sent a email to support, they should be able to give you back the 45 days.

No need to apologize, I can see where you're coming from.

As a matter of fact, I'm kind of wondering when someone is going to get around to actually sending me a license that is for both the proper number (2) and proper length (old NOD32 expiration date + 2 years). I can run fine right now, but since I paid for a pair of licenses, it would be nice for the license to actually reflect that instead of the single PC it now states (end date is now OK). Wouldn't want any misunderstandings to occur at some future date or anything like that..., and yes, support messages were already sent to the reseller (who's a very stand-up provider based on my experience).

I also have the problem: I bought yesterday an upgrade to ESET Smart Security and I receive this key:

    Product Platform: ESET NOD32 Antivirus
    User Name: EAV-xxxxxxxx
    Password: xxxxxxxxxx

but I can only download EAV 3.
