I mentioned this problem in an earlier post. #487 #498

After inserting a cd with an autorun feature OA keeps asking for it in the programs tab.

I found a way to fix this problem. :D

When I insert a cd with autorun and OA pops up I allow it but not remember my decision.

So now I can use program guard again :thumb:

after use of 7 days BSOD

I had been using OA free and antivir Premium for nearly a week without problems
since yesterday.Yesterday as usual I tried to boot up.There was something wrong. After the boot up there was no antivir and OA symbol in the systray.I wanted to restart but the PC froze.I unplugged my PC and restarted.Soon the antivir update job failed. The check near the schedular was not there any more. After 15 minutes I opened TCPview and boom BSOD.
I read the crash dump:''module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for NDISRD.sys probably caused by OAmon.sys(OAmon+3698
I restarted the PC everything back to normal?
NO.I had chosen IE for ask but it was changed to allow. But the other settings for to run safe for limewire ıt was not changed.o_O?
Today I corrected settings.Running as normal. What happened yesterday I am eager to learn.

Ok, I'll have a look into this - it seems specifically the Premium version of Antivir, right?

Anyone else have problems with Threatfire while using OA Free? OA Free is behaving since I got rid of TF.

Yes I am. I had troubles with both OA and Comodo firewalls and TF. I really like the protection TF provides, but I want to use OA as it is well regarded here. OA also will allow me to block port 0.

Sportscubs1272 & benton4, have you noticed any difference in reboot-timeso_O I uninstalled TF (and PCTFW) as it lengthened shut-down times considerably...

I sent some log files to Mike so hopefully he can figure what's wrong with my system. Have you tried setting up special rules in TF so it won't interfere with OA? I'm a newbie on rules so I didn't try that. I think you can isolate certain programs so TF won't clash with them. It would be nice if someone could give us screenshots or test OA Free with TF!

OA Free is running better w/out TF. Sandboxie crashed on me and I wasn't able to open up Antivir from the system tray while using both OA and TF.

Could be the reported conflict between the Cygwin Dll and the Avira updater, rather than a conflict with OA.

You might check whether Cygwin, which seems to be associated with Linux,is present on your system.

If so,there seems to be no solution except uninstalling the apps. using Cygwin,-or uninstalling Avira or using another firewall.:'(

    Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know that Build 23 of OA Free has been uploaded to the website.

This version of OA Free does not require activation, or an internet connection to install it.

    Cheers

    Mike

Thanks Mike for the new version.
Thanks Hairy Coo for opening my eyes about the cygwin conflict with antivir.I have never heard it before. Now I read some comments about cygwin on the antivir support forum.I do not have linux on my system, but I use GNU backgammon, that might use cygwin.I will uninstall it and clean with a registry cleaner. Is it okay?
But as I wrote on post no:505 the crash dump was like this:''module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for NDISRD.sys probably caused by OAmon.sys(OAmon+3698
I checked these two: NDISRD and OAmon and they both belong to the Online Armor.Any comments?

It can always be some incompatibility. They are certainly our firewall drivers - but I would remove the cygwin stuff first and see if that helps

Threatfire still misbehaves with version 23 on my computer. I'm testing the trial version of Norton Antibot ... so far so good. Sandboxie works fine and I'm able to bring up Antivir from the system tray.

    If you think it may be a Cygwin Dll issue rather than an OA driver which now seems more likely,a quick way to locate them is download this ,uninstal the app.-plus do a registry entries search;

    Thanks for your help.I found 2 cygwin.dll s
one in an erased acronis program(cygwin1.dll) I cleaned it.
second in Burrrn.I am removing it now.
But I also suspect Tcpview because the BSOD occured when I opened it.

Also there is one more strange thing. In the programs tab I choose IE and IE DLL to ask. When I want to open IE the program asks to open IE so far so good. But if I open CCleaner and choose to search updates within the program the OA pops up asking me to allow it (the IE dll part).I allow it but not check remember.Soon the program status of the IE dll changes from ask to allow.I tried it many times with CCleaner and also with another thing, which loads during the time I do online banking(jaguar.dll).
But I like to use and play with OA.Before I used ZA free,ZA pro,jetico1(my second favorite after OA),kerio 2.1.5, kerio 4,net veda, sygate, PC tools firewall, comodo. But this one is the most user friendly out of the box.If you ever need help in translating to Turkish I can help you Mike.I recommend this program to my friends.

What version did you install ? There was a bug with the free installer which was reported fixed today.
