    Good morning.

Last year we bought from an american reseller a 15 license pack of nod32 with 1 year subscription.

Before the end of this month the subscription will expire.

Going to the site of the reseller it'd seem (i just sent them an email to be sure) that they don't accept credit cards from people outside USA and Canada anymore.

If this is the case, i'm waiting for their answer, i'd like some advice about the place i can buy the renewal from.

I don't want to use my country seller because their prices are way higher than the other countries i've seen.
I understand that part of this "excess of price" comes from the support they gives in our language and from the translation of the program in our language but we use the english version, so we don't need any translation, and so far ESET english support has been very satisfying so we don't need any of the extra features for our country and we don't want to pay more for buying the update here.

    Thanks in advance

    Best Regards

And to top it off, it does not seem to be additional cost for languages that causes the higher price, check out prices the users in UK and AUS also pay, 54% and 34% higher I think as well. Absolute joke IMO. We are english speaking countries lol, and as an individual, who downloads the software, and has never asked for a single bit of support from their company, I would like to know how they warrant it.

Woah, i would've hoped that someone from ESET could give some word here.

If it was a personal choice for one license i could make other considerations but there is no way that i can have permission from the people i work for to renew 15 licenses through our national reseller that costs us more than the double that we'd pay if we'd acquire them as new licenses, not renewal, in foreign countries.

Perhaps this is not considered a subject to be dealt in public.
Any ESET email where i can have more private talk?

    Thanks in advance

Well you can see the pretty flat response I got at the link below:

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=189675&page=2

Was not exactly polite in explaining their methodology on how they price their products. Although Rodzilla (who appears to work for Eset) posted my private email communications for all to see, which was not very nice in the first place, they tried to explain it by using luxury cars and alcohol as an example for price differences throughout different countries. I don't quite see the comparison, as cars need to be physically shipped vs. software being downloaded. Anyway, I am sure you will get some response to your query, or maybe you should email Eset direct, where as per Rodzilla's comment on my other thread, your mail will be trash canned if you question their pricing policy:

    Quote:

The mailout we sent you and all other NOD32 users licensed with ESET Australia ended with "Please do not email us with requests for more information ... there's nothing more we can tell you at this time. Contact your NOD32 reseller (or check our website) in a few days for further information on how to upgrade."

What it says is what it means ... replies to that mailout are automatically trashcanned.

Hi there, please email sales @ eset.us as renewals should NEVER be more expensive than new licenses.

    Cheers :D

I'd imagine prices would be related to wage rates in each country.

Yes you could get it cheaper from a country where people work for less money but then would you be happy for people in your country not to pay for your services because they can get them cheaper elsewhere? If everyone took that path with everything they buy the result would be falling wage levels in your country.

Thanks a lot, Blackspear, i'll do it tomorrow as soon as i reach my office.

And, Joliet, i can assure you that prices and the amount of money people work for here have no relation, or i wouldn't have posted my question.

If that was the case it'd be highly probable that most people will be buying the software from us, trust me.

    Best Regards

Joliet, I don't think this has anything to do with how Eset are working out their pricing. If it did, Australians would not be paying more than US. Our wages are not so different. And then refer to softtouch's post, which definitely is not fair (this is from the thread over here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=189675&page=2)

    Cheers Greg
