Final ESS Tray Icon

Final ESS Tray Icon[New/More Screenshots]

The final release of ESS is working wonderfully.
The new GUI is really nice. It was a good move replacing the rainbow color in the top bar with a blueish one.

Just one thing, i don't like is the new tray icon. Is there anyway i can replace it or change it back to the RC1 tray icon.

Besides this, its all good.

NOTE: The high resolution icon looks nice(Icon_1.ico), but keep in mind that that isn't what the tray icon looks like. The tray icons are: Icon_2.ico, Icon_3.ico, Icon_4.ico!

Thanks. Icon is nice but to me in no way it appears to be an icon for a security application.
BTW i haven,t seen the RC one. Was it better than this?

Here's the icon from RC1 (obtained also by using Resource Hacker). I think it was much more in keeping with the old NOD32 icon, the eye icon, although nice looking, seems to me to be far too much of a departure from the usual company design.

Sorry to disagree, people, but I prefer the new one much better. And it is suitable for a secure application, meaning the application is watchfull protecting yoir system. It is keeping the eye open to protect your system.

 

I really like the new one, looks nice and fresh. Hopefully in keeping with the final released version.

 

The new one is better, plus, it changes the color if you don´t have all the protections enabled, i mean, the color depends on what you have turned on

 

Thanks for posting the older icon, it looks more like their older tray icon( before v 3).

It changed color with the older style as well.

P.S. I'm for the new one as long as it's only for ESS. I think the one for EAV should stay as the one that the older versions had as it's the AV client where as ESS is new and different than the standalone AV client and deserves a new icon.

 

New icon is beautiful, along with entire new UI. (Leopard-ready! )
Whomever is responsible for the upgrade has my respect, superb job.

I agree with the first post. I think RC release icons look much better than final release icons. Atleast the tray icon should be changed. Maybe we can have a poll on this?

 

Sure "that" icon looks nice, but thats not what the tray icon looks like!

btw, do you have ESS? i just have the AV and mine is green, not teal.

My opinion.

Tray icon- new one looks better but doesn,t give feeling of a security application( rather something like screen capturte, photoshop type application etc).

Splash- older one looks better

Main GUI- new one is better

I think that in general the new design this one better and more praiseworthy I find them to myself what the icon of the previous tray has more to do with the suite in you because of his sinergia, the simplicity and the agility together between the components find them of what properly an eye I understand that the ESET should have had during these 15 years a logótipo of an eye to myself what is already in the height of changing better to correspond with the public.

Summarizing I find what the ancient icon has more to do with the suite and the antivirus of which properly an eye.


But taste of the design in general hardly would change it the icons of the eye for the icon of the version RC1.

I never enable splash screens where it is possible to choose, so this is not an issue for me.

The tray icon is fine, but it would be nice to see some animation when it's working - à la Avast!

Perhaps it could blink!

 

I agree also with his opinion but even so it would like more the icon tray of the RC1 but with liveliness also in the tray and it was able to be prettier.
