Hi Guys, I switched to Tbird recently previoulsy Outlook 2002, & am using Thunderbayes add-on for spam. I've tried different config's but can't get the (marked) junk to go straight to the trash. Junk will come in 'marked as junk' I then have to manually delete. How do i automate? Thanks & Take Care Rico
I can't provide a screenshot (I have Thunderbird in Spanish) but you should have an option to move spam to a specified folder in Tools, Account Settings (choose an account), Spam Options.
IMO the junk folder is the same as the "trash" folder, junk is probably an old name, still used here and there in the options. You won't find the folder "junk" in the account folders.
Hi Guys! Special thanks to 'Ronjor' & 'Cheber', the excellent guide was tremendous help, & being able to see the little flame from 'Cheber's' pic. allowed me to fix my small problem. Thanks & Take Care Rico
I set up message filters to collect and sort all the mail from known sources to folders and I have a catch-all filter at the end of the filters to move everything else into the JUNK folder, Mark them as READ, and set the Junk Status to JUNK.
Well, I don't have that folder and I'm running TB 2.0.0.6 I only use the "Trash" folder, where I dump everything.
The JUNK folder is a standard part of T-Bird and has been for quite some time. You have to enable junk mail filters.
Thanks. That's probably the reason why I don't see "Junk" in the folder tree. I don't see a reason of making a difference between "Junk" and "Trash", because I see "Junk" as "Trash" and TB empties "Trash" when I close it and that's how I want it, get rid of "Junk" AND "Trash" as quick as possible.
I have to check the JUNK folder periodically to be sure it is all junk as I whitelist email addresses. Besides, I like to forward all my junk mail as attachments to my ISP, just to show them what a poor job they're doing.
I understand. I do this check each time when I open TB. I take a quick look in my "Trash" folder to see if TB made any mistake, which happens very rare and then I close "TB". My email-traffic is probably much smaller than yours.
