Traces of Spybot S&D left after uninstall

I uninstalled Spybot recently and it seems to be off my PC now except for in Windows Security Center (Vista Home Premium) it says Spybot is "snoozed" and not off, or ideally not there at all.

Is there a way I can get rid of that annoyance, and make it not show up in
Security Center?

 

Reinstall it. Undo its immuniztion. Get rid of its IE protection (sdhelper.dll -- if I remember correctly), which requires going to its advanced mode, and removing all resident protection, and deleting the DLL. Disable anything that you let SD protect. Now remove it by deleting the SD folder in Program Files and its folders in Application Data. Finally, download a freeware registry cleaner like RegCleaner from Snapfiles and take it out of the ADD/REMOVE file and remove all of its registry keys that you can -- Safer Networking, SD, etc. (Look at the RegCleaner tabs at the top for ADD/REMOVE -- I think, the tab is called Installed Programs.) You could also edit your registry. AND WITH VISTA, makest thee sure that thou dost have all His Holy Microsoft "Rites" to ammend unto thine Holy Registry! In the Name of the Floppy, the Ram and the Holy RegEdit, Drive with but One Partition. Amen/3.

Are you talking about the last free version of RegCleaner? I don't think that will work on Vista. It works on XP only in compatibility mode and reduces my colors to 256.

 

I have RegCleaner running on an XP pro box and it's not in compatibility mode nor does it reduce colors to 256. The only problem I ever encountered with it was getting it to start properly on PC's with dual core or HT processors, but that is a known issue.

 

The freeware Wise and Eusing registry cleaners are compatible with Vista. One can get these from snapfiles.com/freeware .

The freeware CCleaner and the low-cost Regsupreme (V1.7.0.416) are both Vista-compatible.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I tried that fix from the safernetworking site and it didn't work. I guess I'll try re-installing and then uninstalling, now.

Right click on link, save target as. Save to desktop.
Go to desktop and double click and it should do the job, it did for me.
