    Hi there,

why does Nod32 (may apply to other AV as well) not detect the last three files on the eicar Antivirus test? I am talking about the SSL enabled protocol https links, not the standard ones.

Or do I have my AV configured the wrong way. Thanks for any advice.

    Cheers Greg

I'm sure AMON will catch and block it when written to the disk. SSL stands for an encrypted communication, don't forget about this.

Sorry, I forgot to add that I was able to save them to the disk with no warnings. Only once I scanned them manually, did Nod warn me. This is a concern to me, and makes me think I don't have something configured correctly? Everything is set to maximum security with regard to Nod's settings, so am I missing something here?

    Cheers

    Hi,

important is detection of malware, when you run that file.

Did you actually download eicar.com and not eicar.zip?

Under the https protocol files, eicar.com is stopped. eicar.com.txt is opening in the browser with no warning (just some text jibberish is displayed), and eicar com.zip and eicarcom.zip are both allowed to be downloaded to the hard drive, and only get detected when I select them to be scanned by Nod manually.

    Cheers
