Full Backups

Hi, I am a newbie to TI Home.
I always do a full backup of my C Drive in the Secure Zone whenever I install a new prog.
What I would like to ask is: as and when I do a new full backup, will my previous full backups be automatically deleted.
I am asking this as I fear my h/d will quickly fill up if the previous ones are still around.

 

The secure zone is designed to store backup images using the FIFO basis of management. It will not grow any larger than the size you specified when you set it up.
To see how many images you have in the zone and any free space start the TI recovery wizard and select the secure zone. The images will be listed and are named with the time and date of creation.
There is no need to go any further in the Wizard. Just back out and nothing will be changed unless you actually hit the proceed button a few pages further on.

My HD is partitioned into C (35 Gig) and D (21 Gig). Most probably the Secure Zone is in C drive. That being the case, what do you think would be the ideal space config for the Secure Zone.
TI Home was installed with the default config.

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup software.

Here is the description of the approach used by Acronis True Image 11 Home to clean up Acronis Secure Zone:
- If there is not enough free space in the zone to create a backup, the program deletes the oldest full backup with all subsequent incremental/differential backups.
- If there is only one full backup (with subsequent incremental/differential backups) left and a full backup is in progress, then the old full backup and incremental/differential backups are deleted.
- If you are in the process of creating an incremental/differential image to the only full backup in Acronis Secure Zone and there is not enough free space, you will get an error message.

So if you use to create only full images of your drive to Acronis Secure Zone you are not going to run out of space in it.

Hi Wong01,

There are lots of reasons that any of us would like to have images of our systems, but...

One scenario that makes imaging a joy is that of a disk crash.

If you keep your images on the same disk (Secure Zone or otherwise), and if that disk crashes, you will be in big trouble.

I urge you to consider putting your images on another disk for that reason.
