Reinstall-guard.exe warning message

How many times can the paid version be reinstalled?Still getting this message occasionally,"Connection to Service Failed.Please Reinstall AVG AntiSpyware 7.5.Also had a warning message that something bad happened to guard.exe.I didn't see the message, one of my kids saw it with the yellow triangle symbol.

The AVG icon disappeared from the system tray and wouldn't open until I did a reboot.

Which other applications are running in the background?

Did you use an User account with administrator rights for the installation of the AVG Anti-Spyware?

Do you use tools like 'Dropmyrights' or something like that?

If you used an old ewido Version before that AVG Anti-Spyware, did you also uninstall it by using the uninstall.exe in the installation Folder of the old ewido Software and restart Windows?

Did you try to change manually any settings of the AVG Guard background services (using Windows internal utilities)?

 

Other Apps running in background ,TrendMicro PC-Cillin Internet Security 2007,SpyGuard and SpyBlaster.

Don't use any tools like Dropmyrights.

I removed the old ewido using uninstall.exe

Please uninstall the AVG Anti-Spyware by using the uninstall.exe in the installation folder of the AVG Anti-Spyware and then restart Windows.

Before reinstalling the AVG Anti-Spyware, please close/terminate all other running applications that run in the background like you other security Software (TrendMicro PC-Cillin Internet Security 2007,SpyGuard and SpyBlaster), then run the setup for the AVG Anti-Spyware to reinstall the AVG Anti-Spyware Software, then after the installation you can restart/run again your other security Software.

 

Use the installer off web site and should I shut down the Trend Micro Firewall also?

Download the Setup software for the AVG Anti-Spyware and then after(!) the successful download you can run the downloaded file to run the installation process. We highly recommend to save the setup file on your desktop or somewhere else where you can easily find it and then only after the successfully download you can run the setup file.
But before running the setup file, please shut down also the Trend Micro Firewall and your other security Software.
