I have been trying TI-11 for a couple of days and it is working great. When I buy the regular version do I have to uninstall the trial and reload the new one or just install over this one? This is working so good I would hate to have something mess up during the uninstall/reinstall.
Is it better to buy the boxed version or the download?
    Thanks.

When I bought mine it just installed over the existing one and nothing was lost from my trial install.

Thanks for the quick reply Milesy. Just installing over the other is much easier.
Does the boxed version have any advantages, because its much harder to find. Even Acronis doesn't sell it on its web store. PCMall sells it for about $49 incl. shipping.

A trial version must be un-installed before installing a paid version.

Acronis is one vendor which requires that the trial version be un-installed prior to installing a paid version.

Acronis states that you can upgrade from one paid version or build without an un-install first; however, based on what is reported as problem posts, most of the forum regulars usually advise you to un-install any version before installing a different version. The potential time gained is not worth the risk of spending ever more time troubleshooting the problems created. Be safe. Un-install before upgrading.

It is a good practice to write your version number and your build number and serial number on any Acronis CD that you buy or create.

    Thanks GroverH.

What about the box vs download?

The box contents CD is a bootable repair disk. It also contains the install program. Often times, the box version is out of date and you have to download the latest build anyway.

Once you have made the Recovery CD from the download version, you have the same equivalent.

    It's a matter of choice.

Once you register your purchase, the standalone install file and serial number is always accessible for download. It is a good practice to write your version number and your build number and serial number on any Acronis CD that you buy or create.

    Thanks GroverH

When I uninstall the trial do I just uninstall from the, contol panel, add or remove programs, or do I have to go into the big uninstall sequence of going into registry settings, deleting files from different areas of the computer, also?

How can I do a test restore of the c: without messing up the hard drive? Just to make sure the rescue disc and the backup is working? Can I restore it somwhere else as a test?
