Remote software suggestion

Hey guys,
I need some recommendations, if possible.

Here is what I need:

I am looking for some free software that I can install on a networked computer and access it from home.

I know there are tons of software out there that allows this option, such as Single-Click, VNC, crossloop, etc.. and I do use those. But, they all required me to accept the session.

I have my network setup to allow VPN dial-in, but I have to have it directed to my server. I want to be able to access my personal desktop without having to change the port forwarding on the firewall to do so. I am big-chief over the network so rights and permissions isn't a problem. lol

I have looked at several titles that are free, but like I said, they all require someone to be sitting infront of the remote machine to accept the session.

Does anybody know of something I could just install and it would accept a connection automatically. Security is of importance as well to maintain HIPAA regulations.

Would Hamachi fit what you're looking for? The difference between the free and the pro is the pro runs as a service.
I've run QuickBooks over Hamachi free in the past, (also using a SrvAny tool to make the program run as a service,) all I had to do is leave the remote machine on.

logmein free will do what you want.

 

Yup, I use logmein free - its web based and it works like a treat. It even works on my work PC and nothing usually works on that!

OK, I tried out LogMeIn. very easy to use, but essentially is just like GoToMyPc, or several others that give you a 30 day free trial and then make you pay $60+ per computer. I tried different setups and on the logmein website, it said it was trial. I had 30 days to use 120 minutes before I was required to pay. Did I setup something wrong?

I was looking for a free solution. As I had mentioned, I use Single-Click to connect to clients computers to do troubleshooting. It works perfectly and is 100% free. The problem is, that it requires interaction on both ends.

I need something that allows me to dial in anytime, from anywhere without requiring any input from the remote end, and it needs to be free. I will be setting up quite a few of these in the next month.

Any ideas?

 

Logmein is free - its just you trial the pro version first the it reverts to the free version!

 

Gotcha. Of course, I see now there is a place to change your account type from trial-pro to Free.

I believe I used vnc server without having to have someone at the host side accept or click anything, maybe that has changed since it was quite a while ago since I used it...

I think you have to pay now to password protect or be able to use any encryption...

Does that free version of what your using have any security features??
