I totally agree, I wasn't aware of a "policy" change.. I totally agree with the policy..

The subject line says it all.. If you had a chance to buy Panda 20008 IS, for one year, for 3 users, at $30, would you?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jim

I wouldn't for two reasons. First I've abandoned using AV's altogether, but more importantly last year I trialed Panda, wasn't thrilled with it, and then was spammed by them for almost 6 months. Didn't leave me with a great impression overall.

I wouldn't base my decision on price, but on performance and how it feels on your machine. Think of some of the "other" stuff on the market, and would you use it if it were say $25.

    Cheers,

    Pete

Let's keep the focus on Panda and no other antivirus programs.

Oh, for sure I would use it even for free.
Get it and enjoy in great and light protection.
This is my opinion regarding Your question.

nope, just never liked it & you have no idea how good detection is, I'd rather use Avast & a good sygate firwall, that would be free but beteer security IMO...

Probably not. Just been reading the latest PC Authority mag and panda performed pretty poorly. I know av tests aren't necessarily the final word on a product but its definitely given me doubts about it.

IMO if you want to use Panda then stick with the online Activescan or Totalscan since there are more robust real-time AV's out there.

ouch, some harsh replies to the guy.

panda suite is fine, its light and offers good protection, i think its a good price :)

this suite now includes the totalscan.

In a one word reply, no. But that is because I am a cheapskate. ;)

I'm trialing it now.. Seems okay and doesn't really slow anything down. The only thing is when you have to register for updates it wants a lot of information, including your phone number.. Getting a little nervous about that...

I have used panda several times in the past and it always protected my machine. And the new version "2008" runs much lighter than the earlier versions. ICSA labs has it's test results here that include Panda http://www.icsalabs.com/icsa/main.php?pid=b31a$6140dfe3-4a851ebd$eaa4-72b

And by the way, you can beat the heck out of that $30.00 for panda here http://www.softwareoutlet.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Offset=79&Category_Code=UTI-001&Previous_Stack_Depth=3&Previous_Stack_1=50

No, I wouldn't pay one dollar for any panda product.
There are too many better ones that are free.

Yeah, but for almost $10 per unit for 1 year, and I'm trialing it now..It runs smooth on ALL my computers, and it seems to be rock solid... I don't have to worry about the "home usage" condition of Avast, AVG, and Avira... It probably isn't that bad a deal.. Seems to be doing good now..

None of the free av's, and I mean FREE, not pay versions of the free AV's.. allow for commercial usage...

    Comodo does, for one.

If Panda behaves well during the trial and you're happy with it, just go ahead with the purchase. I see no reason to make your decision based on a public popularity contest when you have your own experiences to help you make up your mind.

    Concur.

    I don't like Panda's "religous" ties.

Two of my 3 computers installed Panda no problem.. My wife's desktop lost it's internet connection the minute I installed it.. The connection came back the minute I started uninstalling it..

    Strange behavior.. Although I don't want this to get "religious" 'cause I know all about that, and I try to keep an open mind, the internet connection problem begs the question;

Think I might have some "engrams" on my wife's system?

Just kidding.. Ps I fiddled with the firewall, and it didn't help..

    I guess you mean this:

If that is indeed what you are referring to, then I do not see how the beliefs of one man has anything to do with the company and its products as a whole. Anyway, I admit I am not well acquainted with the issue at hand, maybe someone can enlighten me?

And yes, I do believe there are better products than Panda out there, but for different reasons (mainly related to their marketing/sales policies).
